DO NOT HIRE!!!
Bruce Mutch cheats people out of money using different company names. We hired Bruce (when he was using his Blue Water Pools and Home Improvements company name) to do a koi pond renovation for us. After stupidly paying him over 90% of the total quote, he disappeared on us leaving us with an empty shell for the extension, a leak in the existing pond and no new filter, pump, fibre-glassing, water feature, glass tank feature, piping and connections, pond chemicals or any of the materials that we paid for. Even the brick work they did is still not finished being plastered. Just do a Google search on Bruce Mutch and you will see that he is a ****ster who has been cheating people for years using different company names! DO NOT HIRE THIS *****!!! We just got taken for a ride by the pro (Blue Water Pools and Home Improvements) Kandua connected us with. We paid over R32K for our Koi pond to be renovated but the "pro" Bruce Mutch took our money and has disappeared, leaving the job incomplete. We had to pay a 75% deposit but then Bruce kept on coming up with stories and asked for advance after advance until we had paid well over 75%. We are now sitting with an empty brick and cement shell for our pond extension and don't have the new pump, new filter, water feature, fibre glassing, glass tank filter, pond chemicals, piping and connections or even any of the materials (except for what is in the shell). Meanwhile, the pro just never came back one day and we are now having to find someone else (definitely not by looking on Kandua!!!). Kandua advertise they vet the pros for you, so you can trust them. As a result, we didn't look into Bruce or his company beforehand. However, after we were cheated, we did a simple Google search that revealed Bruce Mutch has been cheating people out of money for many years, using at least 3 different company names! What kind of a vetting process does Kandua use, if they didn't even see what took 5 mins to find? We've learned an very expensive lesson now, so please don't make the same mistake we did. NEVER TRUST KANDUA and rather find your own pros and vet them yourself.

DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON!!! I wish I could give a negative rating, DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON! We paid Bruce over R32K for a pond renovation that was begun and never completed. From the start Bruce was unreliable, dishonest and totally unprofessional. We are now sitting with a brick and cement shell for our pond extension and do not have the new pump, new filter, fibre-glassing, water feature, glass tank feature, piping and connections, pond chemicals or even any materials (beyond what was used in the brick shell) that we paid for. Meanwhile, despite promising the last time we saw him, that he would be back the next day to continue the job, Bruce has disappeared and never returned. He required a 75% deposit upfront and insisted on immediate payment when we did the EFT's. He then kept on asking us for more and more advances over and above the 75% deposit until we had paid him over R32K. The last straw was when he claimed he lost his car keys and needed another 1K advance to call a locksmith so he could come to site. We paid him that and 20 mins later he claimed his debit orders swallowed the 1K and that he needed more. We had not looked into him beforehand as we found him on Kandua, which supposedly vets the pros it connects you with (a very costly mistake). However, after being ******* by him, we did a Google search and it appears that Bruce has been doing this to people for many years, under at least 3 different company names. We are now having to find someone else to continue the work while Bruce sits somewhere with our money. He is sly in that he starts work with the cheap materials (bricks and cement) and buys none of the expensive materials and then he disappears. Because he's done "some" work, it then becomes a civil case and not a legal one. Please, do not make the same mistake we did and hire Blue Water Pools and Home Improvements or any company run by Bruce Mutch!!! Make sure you hire someone who is accredited with the NSPI (https://www.nspi.co.za/) only (wish we knew about them beforehand).
