Absolutely terrible experience with their online ordering system and their pathetic customer service. Placed an order 3 weeks ago and have only received half of the order (it was split into two deliveries). I've been contacting Leroy Merlin by phone and email for the last two weeks, each time receiving promises to update me, call me back etc. So far zero, zilch, nada feedback or update from Leroy Merlin. I eventually contacted the delivery company who informed me that the package was routed to the wrong address. I don't know what the next steps are as, according to Leroy Merlin, there are apparantly no issues worth sorting out - it is a PHYSICAL IMPOSSIBILITY to get someone at Leroy Merlin to spend 10 minutes investigating this and phoning/emailing me back, this has been an entirely one-way interaction with them. As a side note, their call-centre is not toll-free and in total, you will spend literally hours holding because of "high call volumes". Side note 2: I ordered a package from China at the same time. It arrived sooner, with better updates and I'm pretty sure the process is a tad more complicated than sending a domestic package a 100km from Pretoria. And then these same companies bleat about losing business to Temu etc.
I take note of the other, dismal ratings of Africa Sewing Machines on hellopeter. However, my personal experience with them has been the exact opposite. I recently purchased an industrial sewing machine from them and the upfront information and communication during the purchase- and delivery process was faultless. I dealt with Faraz directly and found him extremely helpful and responsive. Can't comment on after-sales service yet but will update rating if needed.
