I was quite surprised to find out something about my Pineapple policy. I just realized that it seems Pineapple doesn't allow adding a secondary driver to the policy. To make things a bit more concerning, I also found out that if another driver uses my vehicle and is involved in an accident, there’s an extra R6200.00 penalty added on top of my usual excess. This wasn't something that was mentioned at all when I initially app****, which is why I was so shocked to learn about it now.
I am writing to raise serious concerns regarding a vehicle purchase from Car King Randburg, which has turned out to be a deeply distressing and costly experience. From the moment we took delivery of the vehicle, it was clear that we had been misled. The car presented numerous hidden mechanical and body faults, and we later discovered that it had been previously involved in an accident and poorly repaired — a fact that was never disclosed to us. Shockingly, the vehicle still passed inspection, raising major concerns about the integrity of the process and those involved. Even more troubling is the strong suspicion that the odometer had been tampered with prior to the sale — a *****ulent and ******** offense. It appears that individuals at Car King may be working in collaboration with contacts at financial institutions to push through deals, regardless of the condition or legality of the vehicles being sold. When we attempted to raise these issues with the dealership, particularly with Morne and the bank representative involved, we were met with complete denial and a refusal to assist or accept any responsibility. Their behavior has made it nearly impossible to return the vehicle or resolve the situation in any meaningful way. It is deeply ********* — and possibly ******* — for a dealership to operate in this manner. Car King Randburg appears to target vulnerable buyers, especially those with limited knowledge of vehicles, exploiting their trust and excitement to own a car. I strongly urge anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Car King Randburg to exercise extreme caution and conduct a thorough background check on both the dealership and the vehicle in question.
