I use my capitec account to hold my tenants deposit - apart from interest earned and occasional statements, no transfers of funds occur. I received an email - 2 days ago which is very similar to the scam emails I am getting purporting to be from my FNB account. I went to Rondebosch main rd Branch today to clarify the situation. I showed the young lady at the front desk , on my Cel, the email , and she pressed the download option without asking me... I immediately took the phone and rebooted it to stop the download. I was angry ! Downloading from a phishing email should be part of their training !!!!!,!! She in then gave me ticket to wait for the next assistant. He argued with me that it is not a scam and it’s from capitec. We checked my account and no transactions have been processed without my authority. I then requested the email address to forward the email , and he argued with me again ! Pointing out the phone number on my card. At this stage - I decided he was incompetent and left. Complaint 1. Pressing unknown buttons on the clients Cel / tablet should always be done with consent - not just go ahead and see... Complaint 2 Arguing with the client is just wrong ! Telling the client a probable phishing scam is ok and the “pfd” file must be opened , when the consequences can be very serious is beyond my comprehension. . The FNB phishing emails I receive are very similar ! . And train your staff better.
I answered an ad in Gumtree , got a reply with details , and when doing a follow up to view the shipping container I wanted to buy , was refused.... Initially , just wanted my money.... As soon as viewing was mentioned... ignored calls , or put down phone.... Similar to scams.... beware...

The gentleman I have asked to repair my campervan required it to be towed to his premises - and reccomended George from Triangle Towing. Of all the companies I dealt with , he was the only one who required a quotation cost (R250) - which I agreed to because he was reccomended by my machanic.
The other quote I got was for 2500 (Gardens Towing) and I surmised this would be a better quote.
After not returning my calls - he answered saying he was in court and would call me back - he never did...
I called him back again and he then gave me a quote of R4500. (add 250 for the quote itself)
I asked him why so much - he had already told me a simple car would be R950 - and he told me that was his price - I was welcome to approach other people...
So I was not impressed. Turned out my mechanic does not actually know him ???

I had the pleasure to order a GREASETRAP from this branch who were very helpfull , supplying technical info and arranging the order direct from the factory.
I have dealt with this branch before and that is why I went back. Throughout the problems that followed , they were proffessional and courteous - so when I escalated the problem to higher management - they were not involved...
The product took dubble the time to arrive than promised, was nowhere near what I ordered and , apon being assured that this is the way all greasetraps are fitted , I installed it , it was a major problem - not functioning and upsetting the client GREATLY.
Between the senior management and the manufacturer , I was given a run-a-round and plenty of verifiable nonsense about how/why the disfunction occurred.
It took 2 months to sort the problem out - with me returning the product (for a full refund and costs - thank you) before the client was happy.
The counter staff were excellent in containing my extreme anger throughout all this - for which I thank them.
I will consider returning to CPandB in future - perhaps just to get a second quote ...

I took my CRV for a major service to Claremont and asked for a spare key to be coded at the same time.
There were some minor misunderstandings , which were professionally dealt with , and the staff went the extra mile ensuring I did not have to also go to head office in CT central.
Good service , good attitude , happy to pay the bill...
I have been looking for a specific hose clamp for about 10 years.
I popped into Hosefit and was served within 10 minutes , even though they were busy.
My hose had a new clamp/crimp fitted within 5 minutes and the cost was nominal.
Considering the lacklustre service from most places I go to... this one stands out. 5 * service
