Ecomed staff in Johannesburg have always gone out of their way in support of my Mother In Law and her COPD diagnosis. Always pleasant, very quick to respond to any queries and very professional. A specific mention has to go to Ian Grobler who services the East Rand in Gauteng. He is always helpful, professional, knoweledgable, answers any question on the Ecomed products and he goes out of his way to support his patients.
My mother-in-law was admitted to ICU with pneumonia 2 1/2 weeks ago at Life Bedford Gardens. She had recently had cataract surgery and was almost finished with her course of eye drops that cost around R500 for both. The pharmacy stickers specifically state "ZERO REPEAT" and the term that she must use the drops (2 weeks & 3 weeks, respectively). The ICU decides, in their brilliance, to order extra drops (S3 and S4 without her Ophthalmologist's script) - even though the ones she had were not finished and then proceed to open and use the new drops as well, all on her medical aid without consulting her, the script sticker, or the family - just wasteful expenditure. The hospital also neglected/forgot to pack her chronic meds for her return home and do not have a driver to deliver the meds that THEY forgot to pack - extremely frustrating. The staff are great with the patient - just not very aware of the importance of ensuring chronic meds are packed, or reading the pharmacy sticker on the medication.
Nhlanhla Mkhithi was incredibly patient and helpful while we went through the process of reviewing our router speeds. I was super-impressed with the service from himself as the Engineer and Pretty Likhade - whilst logging a ticket.
