I was involved in an accident on the 11th August 2024 where a an It guy from Shoprite bumped me from the back. After many difficulties with the driver refusing to give me their insurance details I managed to go to their head office in Umhlanga and obtain details. I called Verno Hector who deals with their claims in Cape Town. He sent an email to Paladin Insurance and Pierre Van Der Westhuizen Attorneys. On the 23 August Mbali from PVW Inc (Attorneys) informed me it will be quicker to claim from my insurance and they will re-imburse me. I have submitted my excess last year to Shoprite / Paladin and PVW Attorneys and I have been ignored ever since. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT SUCH A BIG GROUP OF COMPANIES LIKE SHOPRITE RUNS AWAY FROM MINOR THINGS LIKE THIS MATTER. I WILL MAKE SURE TO PUBLISH THIS AND MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF THEIR BRAND WHEN IT COMES TO ACCIDENTS. Shoprite reference B83139 - BB15CKZN
On the 11th August 2024 I was involved in a accident with a Shoprite employee from their head office. On the scene everything went smooth and I proceeded to report the incident to the police station. I have been contacting him since yesterday (Monday 12th August 2024) and information has been very slow. He refuses to give me his work address as well as the risk teams details. When I asked him who Shoprite is insured with he says he does not have the information as well as delaying with providing me an insurance reference number. My insurance requires this details urgently and I do not think it is fair that information be withheld. Failing to do so I will repair my vehicle and request that Shoprite South Africa compensate me as my vehicle is only a few months old. The employee also seems to be rude when I advised him that I will escalate the matter. I have been informed that he will not respond to me any further.
