I bought an umbrella from Makro Woodemad, when I got home and opened it, it was already damaged and, the pole did not have a ferrule / spike but I thought this was just how it came. The following day, I went to Makro Alberton and advised that the umbrella was broken, The return section then had to call a person from the store, who eventually arrived and after waiting how long, came out and asked where the spike was, and I said that the umbrella is exactly as I had purchased it, I had not used it at all. After waiting for what seemed like forever, he came back and said that they will send it for repairs - I refused as I wanted store credit to get a new umbrella - I paid for a new one but got a damaged secondhand one and now they want to fix an already used umbrella. I was then told that the Manager was refusing to accept the product and I had to go back to Makro Woodmead. I must now run around from store to store when it was Makro that sold me a secondhand damaged umbrella straight off the shelf.
Very dissappointed... 1) The Nail polish that I bought for my daughter is definitely not nail polish, you paint it on your nails and it does not dry at all, you can just wipe it off with your finger and then it smudges all over, so you have to wash with soapy water to get that off - I lterally removed all the polish simply by washing my hands, no nail polish remover needed. 2) I bought my son a water ring toss game and when I was going to wrap it, saw that the one pole had already broken off and water floating around in the water, so didn't even bother wrapping it for him for Christmas. 3) I bought a book for my daughter and when wrapping it found that the decorations on the front cover were actually stuck on the wrong side of the book.
I Purchased an Ottimo blender online from checkers. I managed to use it one to simply blend some condensed milk and lemon and it completely burnt out. When using it, it smelt like something was burning so I switched it off, when I started it again it worked for a while and then completely died. Unfortunately I was silly to throw the box away so now I am stuck with a burnt out blender which I did not even have the pleasure of using more then once. I am starting to realise that unless you are willing to spend a crazy amount of money on appliances, don't bother buying anything cause the cheaper brands just don''t work how they are supposed to. Really dissappointed in this whole experience as I was so excited to have my first blender.
I hate this Bank. I am sorry that I ever went back to Absa. Its always the same situation. The economy is tough for most normal people, yet Absa will still deduct money from an account whenever they want and for any amount, they don't care that they will leave you with no money to get through the month and you cant even speak to anyone because they cant even give you an answer.
Was a relatively good experience for a first time renter.
