We have had this bad experience with Discovery Health. The medical aid scheme, to this day, has not paid for an operation and a hospital stay claim that happened last year end of October. We have paid out of pocket for some of the expenses and they are ignoring the refund request. The calls keep coming from the hospital for us to settle the debt. Discovery is busy playing us. We keep following up. There is nothing happening except for excuses. They said, due to a transition from one medical aid to another, the cover was suspended pending upliftment which takes 2-3 days and they will process the claim and make the necessary payments. They didn't do that. They didn't pay. They changed the reason again to say, the codes on the claims are incorrect and I told them that we know nothing about codes, they should talk to the specialists from the hospital. They didn't respond at all and didn't pay still. They changed the reason again to say the claims were not processed because the savings have been depleted. Of course they are depleted because we are no longer using Discovery but on the day of the operation, we were still covered by Discovery. They should pay the claims. Discovery what is this? How long should one follow up? Do you care about your customers or you care about making excuses? The day of the operation was heavy enough to our family. The burden of calls on our back almost everyday is not helping but we relive the whole experience with uncer*****y and disappointment from the way Discovery have been handling this matter. Very unprofessional, concerning and unpleasant.
I went to FNB Fourways Mall to deposit money into my account around 15:30. 22 February 2026. The ATM displayed Device recovery in progress in the middle of the transaction. Therefore the transaction was incomplete and no one to help. The ATM didn't even print a slip to say what happened. The branch was closed. Tried to call FNB for help. They insisted that, they won't be able to help I should consult a branch. The lack of the sense of urgency considering how complicated the situation was, for them not to show any empathy and rush to finish the call is highly unprofessional. I went to the FNB app that at least where I got an ATM dispute form to help with the recovery of the transaction. I don't know what the branch would say but FNB you must know that it's a bad idea to have jamming ATMs and do not put any Technician in place to help customers immediately. I get to lose my sleep while FNB has extra cash in the bank because all the money was stuck somehow in your ATM. I had to wait for 2 hours hoping the ATM would reboot or something. It was no longer allowing cash deposits and not printing receipt. I kept on taking pictures of what's on the ATM screen. At some point it was restarting but then went back to Device recovery in progress. What's that actually? I will report back as soon as I speak to the branch in Fourways Mall. I am very unhappy about this kind of service.
The physicians are great. They are knowledgeable and experienced. Dr Paulsen is the best, she never disappoint. The problem is the attitude of the staff there at reception, when you call to make an appointment they are rude and hung up while you're still talking. I didn't get the lady's name but she was very rude. Please communicate with the reception staff on how to handle clients.
