I was called by a person affiliated with Nedbank in 2023 concerning my late mother's deceased estate bond account regarding a refund. Her estate was wound up years ago. I investigate the matter only to have an attempted phishing attempt on my Google account. Raised it with their ***** department and validated the refund amount did exist. Went through the arduous process of opening up another late estate account and followed up with the local branch 6 times to find someone contact me from their deceased estate department via email that the refund was payed but it wasn't. Went back only to find the file was flagged by PWC. They charged me R40 to print a statement to prove that no monies were payed to me by them and the consultant asked me to open another transmissions account. It's now Feb 2025. I've received not one phone call from their deceased estate department to explain the matter not even once. You can't contact them directly. Run! Their system is so compromised the ****** seem to be working faster than the employees. Not transparent at all.
The ICB have good people who work there the system for online and distance learning is not efficient fair or even transparent concerning the actual examination sitting and results. I was given a no sitting for my first attempt due to an upload error that couldn't be rectified. You cannot contact them at all directly telephonically. I re-registered for my second examination sitting and was disqualified for reasons NOT provided. No exam results given no communication given for the results. I had to ask what was going on? I've never written an online exam before and didn't even receive a courtesy mail or results? It's R850 a time how can you not prove that the exam was even marked? What are we paying for. I Regrettably have to confess it does feel like ****. You will most likely have to write more than once. I have already obtained a Degree in Financial Accounts in 2004 and am 40 years old. I had a 92% average on my portfolio but cant pass this examination because its a broken system. ICB sort your service out. It is not ok to take the finances of these young and economically vulnerable students in the claim that your honoring the service of an integral profession. The experience is frustrating in my opinion go to to a college or study through SAICA instead.
