My wife placed an order with McDonalds Tokai via the Uber Eats website. Once the order was ready for delivery, she was informed about the delivery person, the make of the delivery vehicle and the fact that this person suffered from hearing loss. When placing the order, specific instructions were given to ring the doorbell. Subequently, she received a notification that the delivery person was a few minutes away from our location. We waited outside but no delivery person arrived. She then received a phone call from the delivery person but this person did not communicate verbally and the call was ended. My wife tried to call him back immediately but the call went unanswered. After a few more minutes, she was then sent a photo of the order being left on the side of the road. She then informed Uber Eats that the order was not received and they responded to her that according to their "investigation" she was not eligible for a refund as their delivery person exhausted all efforts to contact her. This is patently false. The driver did make a call but he did not communicate verbally. The call was simply made to satisfy the Uber Eats policy to show that he made an attempt. The driver did not speak. Uber Eats should also check their tracking records as this would show that the driver was at the wrong location/ street. We are now forced to accept the outcome of this shambolic Uber Eats investigation.
My experience with Sun Smart Solar has been a total nightmare, and I cannot agree more with the negative reviews regarding the individual(s) running the company. I purchased a system from Sun Smart towards the end of 2022. The system ran for 11 months before the inverter experienced problems. In mid-October 2023, I contacted Jonathan, and he and his team came out to check out the system. The inverter was then taken in for repairs as it was still under warranty. Since then, for a period of almost 6 months, I made almost weekly follow-ups, but my inverter was never returned. After a few months, I learnt from Africo Solar that my inverter was apparently repaired a few days after it was brought in, and it was collected by Jonathan at the start of November 2023. However, at that time Jonathan informed me that the inverter could not be repaired and I would instead be given a new inverter. This never materialised. All that I have ever received from Sun Smart was dishonesty, empty promises, and continuously changing stories, not to mention being subjected to rudeness and vulgarity. I was informed that I was never grateful for anything that Sun Smart did, and this was the reason for my inverter not being returned (despite me having paid for it!!!). For anyone wanting to invest in a solar PV system, I would advise that proper due diligence be done. If you visit the Sun Smart website, it is no coincidence that the company and contact details are scant.
