**** - No delivery of goods after over a year!
****😱 STAY AWAY! We paid the R80k in advance for the batteries and Jonathan/Grant has been lying and keeping us hopeful since November 2023, and he still hasn’t delivered. The level of conviction he has in his own lies is inconceivable. How ridiculous is it that his one out of many excuses for a delay in delivery, was due to him preaching and attending a Christian conference.

Retract my great review Review
After our installation, I gave them a great review on Hellopeter. Unfortunately trying to obtain an invoice for tax purposes has changed my entire view, two months of constant follow-ups all I have received are excuses. I did not want anything changed JUST the invoice for the work done! When I sent my final follow-up message, filled with frustration and anger as I couldn't submit the invoice to SARS that they require for my rebate- now I can't even get the tax rebate that I am legally entitled to. The owner took it to the next level by deleting me from the Solarman App and literally telling me to "GO TO HELL"... very professional indeed. I guess if I can't get an invoice, there would be no chance of after-sales service. NICE ONE...this is a great way to treat your clients who spent their hard-earned money with your company!

Dreadful service, Dishonest
My experience with Sun Smart Solar has been a total nightmare, and I cannot agree more with the negative reviews regarding the individual(s) running the company. I purchased a system from Sun Smart towards the end of 2022. The system ran for 11 months before the inverter experienced problems. In mid-October 2023, I contacted Jonathan, and he and his team came out to check out the system. The inverter was then taken in for repairs as it was still under warranty. Since then, for a period of almost 6 months, I made almost weekly follow-ups, but my inverter was never returned. After a few months, I learnt from Africo Solar that my inverter was apparently repaired a few days after it was brought in, and it was collected by Jonathan at the start of November 2023. However, at that time Jonathan informed me that the inverter could not be repaired and I would instead be given a new inverter. This never materialised. All that I have ever received from Sun Smart was dishonesty, empty promises, and continuously changing stories, not to mention being subjected to rudeness and vulgarity. I was informed that I was never grateful for anything that Sun Smart did, and this was the reason for my inverter not being returned (despite me having paid for it!!!). For anyone wanting to invest in a solar PV system, I would advise that proper due diligence be done. If you visit the Sun Smart website, it is no coincidence that the company and contact details are scant.

Bad quality Bad service Be smart DO NOT Use their service
What a lying, unprofessional, ****ming, narcissist and a bully of note this SunSmart guy is - F! vile Very quick to take money and delay installation excuse after excuse , when he finally decides to install he acts like he is doing you a favour whilst one paid for the service and products. His team that does installation is questionable !!! My partner did some digging on the company and it sent us down the rabbit hole, it was at that point I realized I have just got myself in die moer in with Sun Smart. After installation we encountered faults with our electrical system wires were not connected correctly, that was sorted. But then we realized that the inverter itself was also faulty and we were told stories they took it away and away it went. Days, weeks and 2 months of waiting in the winter months for our Inverter to be replaced the bullying, the narcissist behavior we received was appalling nt forgetting the lies and excuses. I was ready to go open a case of theft and they randomly decided to return and reinstall the Inverter. Months went by the inverter was working fine and 2days ago a fault occurs at this point we dnt even want to bother with Sun Smart nothing smart about them.

BEWARE BEWARE OF SUN SMART SOLAR!!! ****MERS ****MERS
Hi. I have paid my 80% deposit to them on the 10/04/2024 for a complete solar system to be installed. Until today I did not receive anything or any services. A lot of promises but nothing! Last few weeks I was asking for a refund but still just promises. I am more than willing to join any one else that are busy or planning a law suit against them. Be smart, avoid at all costs
We arranged for 2 installations. Unfortunately, as we were rushed, we did not do our homework properly - the people involved in this company have a "colourful" history/ track record for taking money and not delivering according to MANY complaints over the years (other businesses as well). In our case, after many delays and promises, one installation was partially completed and, after 5/6 no shows, we tried to cancel the second installation. They kept our deposit from the 2nd installation to pay for the first, INCOMPLETE, installation and then it was a BIG battle to get the rest of the deposit back. I was one of the lucky few that only lost a few thousand rand. I have had many customers since approaching me asking for help. Beware of the following: They charge you a big deposit, then disappear, then charge you a "20% restocking fee" when you cancel the installation after multiple no shows (blaming bad weather, traffic, supply issues etc etc). Or, they will do a partial installation and aggressively pursue full payment, even when the job is not completed - the promised COC won't be provided. If you have issues, report it to the police and get lawyers involved to send a letter of demand.

8 weeks later still waiting on panels to install
I have been contemplating about writing this review for a very long time - but after 8 weeks of waiting for a simple panel installation i have finally lost all patience. Ordered 12 panels on the 27th Feb, payment done immediately - got immediate feedback that my install will be done within 7 days - and that is where the communication stopped. Every day/week after it has been a battle to get a firm answer as to when it will be installed (if ever at this point) - delays happen, weather happens (but 8 weeks delays - unacceptable) Feedback is only given once asked for and ranges from "that the teams are there this week", "a previous install took longer than expected", "I'll get back to you", "I am setting up times now" from both Shandre & John, sometimes no replies at all. Asking for a refund/cancellation also out of the question because my panels "apparently" have been bought already so i must wait on the install. I did not believe the other reviews on Google, because both my neighbors had their installs done, the install was neat and efficient, which was why i went with them, however they too are waiting on some things to be wrapped up and are given every excuse under the sun, i now i regret my choice. Think long and hard about using this company and the 72hr promo that they punting from ordering to install - it will not materialize. Anyone who wants to see my whatsapp chat as proof you are more than welcome to respond/ask.
