Ashton International Benoni
If you are looking for a good private school for your kids with qualified teachers, look at another school. Ashton Benoni is not what we thought it would be. Very nice picture painted and can be convincing but... The school regularly appoints individuals into teaching positions who do not hold the necessary qualifications or professional experience required for such roles. Many of these individuals are hired without any formal teaching degree or relevant credentials. They are permitted to begin working as full-time educators while concurrently enrolling in basic teaching certificate programs or beginning their formal studies. This practice effectively allows unqualified individuals to be placed in classrooms, including in the Foundation Phase, where early childhood development expertise is essential. Moreover, there appears to be a consistent pattern of favouritism and nepo_tism in the recruitment process. Positions are often filled based on personal connections and who you can suck up too rather than professional merit. This severely disadvantages many qualified, experienced teachers who are actively seeking employment yet remain overlooked. Another deeply troubling aspect is the apparent lack of diversity in the teaching staff. This situation not only undermines the integrity of the teaching profession but also compromises the quality of education that learners receive. It is deeply concerning that institutions can operate in this way while many capable, qualified educators remain unemployed. I have a child at the school and we will be moving him out of Ashton Benoni to a place that has more qualified teacher in positions with actual degrees in foundation phase teaching. There are currently 8 other parents that will be doing the same. The school also mentions no bullying allowed but when the Deputy Principal of the Pre-school is asked about it she will ignore it, cover it up and try to justify it. Another sad point is that there will be a teacher who has 6 months experience as an assistant then was promoted to being a Grade 0000 teacher and now is being moved to Grade 3 WITH NO FOUNDATION PHASE TEACHING DEGREE. This is a crucial grade for kids. This teacher doesn't have any qualification for this role but i must trust her to teach my child who will be in Grade 3 next year!? She used to be a student at the school and knows the Deputy Principal therefore is always protected and promoted. I would not recommend any parent place their child/children in this school. Bullying is covered up, ****** is rife and the best interest of your child will be placed as a last thought. Very, very sad that this is what education has come to!

Decrease in quality of food
Okay place. Use to be amazing and well run but since the new ownership in the last 2-3 years, food quality and taste has gone down
