Hazendal Ocean Basket
Went to Hazendal Ocean Basket and ordered Calamari strips grilled starter It was awful Chewed like rubber. I told the waitress who took it back to the kitchen for a replacement After a long wait I asked what was happening and she said the kitchen had said not to charge me I asked where the replacement was and after another long wait received a properly cooked dish but grossly over salted Again I sent it back Paid for what we had ate/ drank and walked out The waitress received a good tip and I explained that it was not her fault and my complaint was not about her The Somerset Mall Ocean Basket is first class so this is a reflection on a specific outlet not the whole franchise

Ruined shoes at Barksole
I took a pair of Barker leather shoes to Barksole Somerset Mall and asked for them to be soled and heeled with leather soles I was advised and agreed to a leather half sole and heels I was told they would be ready on the following Wednesday I actually went to pick them up on the following Thursday Having made a round trip of 80 km I was told they weren't ready I received a phone call a few days later telling me they were ready When I made a further 80 km journey I looked at the shoes which had plastic type soles The man in the shop told me leather soles had to be specially ordered and there was nothing they could do about the mistake I had paid R450 when I took the shoes in I took the ruined shoes and left the shop Bitter lesson learned If there was a zero rating I would have used it
