We booked a sunrise safari through this company. When enquiring about the type of safari this would be they gave us incorrect information (actually a lie) and mislead us. We had been staying inside the park for 8 days and doing the SANParks game drives which is in the big 24 seater vehicle and wanted to try and book a drive with a smaller vehicle which is why we enquired with Things to do Marloth park. I asked about the size of the vehicle to make sure it was what we were wanting and we were told it’s a 9-seater so I knew this couldn’t be the SANParks vehicle so we went ahead and booked. The cost was also a lot higher than SANParks and says +- 4 hour drive on the website and the SANParks drive is 3 hours. We received two different confirmations - a confirmation screen after booking which said time slot was 4:15am, and then a confirmation email which told us to meet behind Crocodile Bridge Gate reception at the petrol station at 3:45am. We went to the area at 3:45 and waited for the guide to arrive. Nobody was there. We waited for 45 minutes, walking all over, trying to find the guide and hoping they were just running late. We could not get hold of anyone at things to do Marloth Park either. We eventually managed to get help from a SANParks official who called the SANParks vehicle that had gone out that morning and the guide confirmed that we were supposed to be on THAT drive. So they had actually booked us on the 24 seater SANParks game drive which departed at 4am - which is absolutely not what their information told us. If you are booking a SANParks drive for your customers - you must tell people it’s a SANParks drive. Do not mislead people into believing it is a smaller private vehicle. We specially asked the size of the vehicle to ensure this was not a SANParks drive in the large vehicle and were told by them that it’s a 9 seater vehicle. If we wanted to book that game drive we would have done it directly through SANParks at a fraction of the cost. The SANParks vehicle meets by the boom entrance to the park, leaves at 4am and is a 24 seater vehicle. NONE of this information is what was provided. We were told meet at the petrol station, 9 seater vehicle and departs at 4:15am so we never would have thought that they had actually booked us on the SANParks drive. All incorrect information and misleading. The SANParks vehicle left without us as we were still waiting for what we thought was the game drive we paid for. We have asked for a refund and been following up endlessly but they just don’t reply!! Please don’t use this service and if you are wanting to book a drive you can do it yourself directly on the SANParks website and save yourself a lot of money as this is not a private vehicle drive.
My husband and I bought a petrol Ryobi lawnmower in October from game. It had trouble getting going from the start and then stopped turning on completely after about a month. We took it in to return as it obviously had a fault. They informed us they needed to send it to Ryobi to look at and would let us know. A week or two later the consultant called me saying we have been quoted around R1000 for “servicing” of the unit because whatever is wrong with it is not covered in the warranty. I told her we will not be paying to service a brand new lawnmower that was sold to us with issues. I’m super shocked that Ryobi would even come back to us with this? Why would anyone pay to have a NEW lawnmower serviced. A new unit that does not properly work from purchase should be replaced or the money refunded?? I told the lady to go back to them and explain that it’s a brand new unit and there’s no way we should be paying to service an issue and she said she would ask Ryobi why they’ve said this and get back to me and that was the last I’ve heard from them. I haven’t been able to get hold of them since - sent 3 follow up emails with no response. At this point it seems like my lawnmower has disappeared into thin air. They’ve had it since end November. I am so angry and disappointed that this is how game lets their customers be treated.
