<div>Autotrader is a dishonest advertising platform that only cares about their advertisers, ie dealers, and nothing about the actual customers who wants to buy vehicles. I have had 3 older negative reviews about bad service/dishonest dealers removed in a space of a minute last week by Autotrader without explanation. I have asked them to explain to me what the problem was, but no response has been forthcoming. Autotrader claims that their "Ratings and Reviews help you make informed decisions and ensure you connect with reputable dealerships who prioritise excellent customer service." Autotrder also claims that the rating system is "Designed to help you gauge the reputation and service quality of dealerships." Yet when someone leaves a negative review they remove it without explanation. One also cannot view most of the previous old negative reviews because the make such reviews invisible as it's purportedly not "recent" anymore, but they don't state what their time period for "recent" is. As such they are not helping the public to make informed decisions about the dealers on their platform and are being dishonest by claiming to do so. Dealer was not transparent in pricing upfront and conduct. Did not disclose in ad that a mandatory warranty must be bought for R12 000 extra, and also additional out the door admin fees of another R7200 ! When I said his price was too high and way above market, he told me the retail price of the vehicle was R185 200 while I had 2 independent industry valuation reports that had the retail value between R118 000 and R144 000. When I showed him one of the reports he dropped his price in the add quickly the next day with R20 000 without informing me. I left a negative review on AutoTrader but he complained to them and **** to them about what really transpired to have it removed. I have all whatsapp communications saved with proof of everything this dealer said.
Shady and evasive dealer to be avoided. Never followed up on promises to call me back with the information I wanted on a 2013 Peugeot 208 GTi for sale 2 weeks ago. The owner Ewald Spies and his partner Matie Human withheld the fact that this is the 2nd time they are trying to sell this defective vehicle, after previously misleading and selling it to Elizka from Bredasdorp, see her nightmare experience with Bergsig Motors and Ewald Spies here, -> https://www.hellopeter.com/bergsig-motors-worcester/reviews/mislead-nightmare-4942435#
