I wish I could give this ************ company zero stars, they definitely do not deserve even one star. I was diagnosed with permanent disability, so I had to put in a permanent disability claim. Unfortunately for me, the provider was FNBLIFE. FNBLIFE is the worst provider I have ever encountered. I couldn't even explain on here the level of ********* practices & unjust behaviour that was done during my claims process. Initially, the claim was rejected. A representative from FNBLIFE called me to tell me this. She explained the reason, I immediately told the representative that they are using the wrong date. It was clear that FNBLIFE did this inorder to reject the claim. I told her what date should be used & this was substantiated with tests & medical reports. The representative told me that's the date they going with and that's final. This is the unjust practices that FNBLIFE uses when dealing with sick & disabled people. I told the representative that I will be disputing this via the ombudsman. She went on to tell me that I shouldn't because it will not make a difference because the provider can then just change the reason for the rejection. She was intimidating me into accepting the rejection and to go away. It's just so disheartening that this provider does not care about their policyholders. This big, powerful company cannot practice ethical claims procedures. There are so many reviews with the exact same experience. Despite intimidating me, I contacted the Ombudsman and disputed the claim. I hope that FNBLIFE does the right thing here and I hope that they stop this horrifying and unjust practices.
FNBLIFE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRADE AS AN INSURER. I HAVE A LIFE COVER POLICY WITH FNBLIFE. ON THE 2ND, SEPTEMBER 2024, I SUBMITTED A PERMANENT DISABILITY CLAIM. I AM UNABLE TO EARN AN INCOME AS I HAVE TWO PERMANENT, CHRONIC & UNCURABLE CONDITIONS. THE CLAIM TOOK 4 MONTHS AND THEN THEY REJECTED IT. I LAID A COMPLAINT THROUGH THEIR OWN COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT, 3 TIMES THROUGHOUT THIS 4 MONTH PERIOD. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE. THE THIRD COMPLAINT GOT ME IN CONTACT WITH THE MANAGER WHO IS THE MOST ********* PERSON I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. SHE BASED MY REJECTION ON FALSE INFORMATION. THE CORRECT INFORMATION WAS NEVER REQUESTED DURING THE 4 MONTHS. HENCE IT'S CLEAR THAT THEY WANTED TO REJECT MY CLAIM FROM THE START. I AM DISGUSTED AT FNBLIFE. I WILL BE GOING TO THE FSCA & THE MEDIA. THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE. IT IS NOT OKAY TO TREAT SICK & DISABLED PEOPLE LIKE THIS. I OBJECTED TO THE REJECTION BUT IT'S BEEN A MONTH & THEY STILL HAVE NOT PAID MY CLAIM. IT'S DISGRACEFUL THAT FNBLIFE WILL REJECT A VIABLE CLAIM OF A SICK PERSON WHO NEEDS THE MONEY TO LIVE OFF. WHEN I GOT THE REJECTION LETTER I EMAILED THE MANAGER TO TELL HER I WILL BE OBJECTING. I ALSO ASKED HER WHAT MORE I CAN SEND, AS I KNOW IT'S A VALID CLAIM BECAUSE I'VE BEEN LIVING WITH THESE TWO CONDITIONS FOR 16 MONTHS & HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO WORK FOR 16 MONTHS. SHE REP**** "I therefore think it is best that you discuss treatment options and a treatment plan with your treating rheumatologist/and or other treating specialists." I HAVE THE EMAIL PROOF OF THIS. IT'S ********* & NOT ALLOWED UNDER SA INSURANCE LAW, FOR HER TO TELL ME TO GO SEEK TREATMENT INSTEAD OF OBJECTING. AND IF MY CLAIM WAS HANDLED ETHICALLY THEY WOULD'VE ASKED ME ABOUT MY TREATMENT HISTORY INSTEAD OF USING FALSE INFORMATION TO REJECT MY CLAIM AND TELL ME TO GO AWAY. TREATMENT DOES NOT WORK ON ME BECAUSE I HAVE TWO CONDITIONS INTERACTING WITH EACH OTHER WHICH IS NOT NORMAL OR STANDARD WHICH I DISCLOSED TO THE OT. IT IS SUCH AN OUT OF TOUCH & INSENSITIVE THING TO SAY. AS MOST PEOPLE THAT CLAIM FROM INSURANCE COMPANIES DON'T HAVE ANOTHER OPTION THE INSURANCE MONEY IS OUR ONLY HOPE TO LIVE OFF. I WILL NOT LET FNBLIFE GET AWAY WITH NOT PAYING MY CLAIM & I WILL NOT LET THEM DO THIS TO ANYONE ELSE.
