Active since May 2025
I sent my Mercedes-Benz E240 to them to have the windows tinted. A few days after the tint settled I found dirt in the window tint which causes bubbles. They seem to have a lot of excuses on why there is dirt in the window tint and refused to apply a new tint. They blamed the vehicle age and "welding" - my car is an original one owner vehicle with no accidents and welding! The tint also began peeling off at the corners of the windows. I have been in the Motor Industry for 20 years now and I appeal to the public to stay away from these guys.
I'm new in the Pretoria area and decided to try them out. I took my E240 Mercedes-Benz to them on 9 May 2025 as I knew that the lower control arm bush was faulty. They charged me R200 to check the suspension and carry out a test drive. I didn't tell them that I am actually a qualified Mercedes-Benz and BMW Technician and have been in the Motor Industry for the past 20 years! I waited a very long time in store for them to produce the quote for the repair. Eventually they provided me with a quote to replace the following Parts: 1.Front Shocks (was actually faulty) 2.Rear Shocks 3.Some Unheard-of-Bush (they were unable to explain what this was) 4.Lower Ball Joints 5.Steering Rack Ends 6.Tie Rod Ends 7.Stabilizer Links 8.Stabilizer Bushes (was actually faulty) 9. Lower Control Arm Bush Amount : R23 100.00 I was immediately suspicious! If this was the case my vehicle would be unstable and uncontrollable on the roads! I then took my vehicle to a friend's workshop - Gas ****** xyz (AN RMI APPROVED WORKSHOP) all the way down in Alberton. We found that the bushes that require replacement would not cost more than R600.00 and I did buy the front shocks at a Cost price of R1000 each (quoted R3800 each). I estimate that the total repair would cost me about R3500 and definitely not R23000! I took the vehicle to Supa Quick in Pretoria North on the 13th to fit the shocks and even they didn't find any faults on the suspension. It's a pity that we are unable to upload pictures or videos on this platform but anyone is welcome to request the pictures and videos of my suspension for further proof. When I confronted Syd's Suspension, I was told that it was unprofessional to have someone else look at the quote and assess the vehicle and that I am not welcome there as a customer. I do sympathize with vehicle owners who are not technically inclined and take their vehicles to such places for repairs.

Also beware of factionalism, you may have to be of a certain religious group in order to get a better service ; )
