Took my wife’s Kuga in on 6 November 2025 because of oil in the cooling system. Michael Leibrandt (the owner) promised a 1–2 day turnaround. Nearly three weeks later, I’m left with a completely dead car, a R6 862 bill, and now being asked for another R7 000–R8 500 to finish the job he claimed was done. Here’s what actually happened: - Quoted only for oil-cooler replacement and a flush. Heater-hose leak I pointed out was ignored. - After 12 days of zero updates, I discovered he was flushing the cooling system with OMO washing powder (!!!). Yes, household detergent. - Car left outside in the rain with panels off and wiper blades thrown on the wet, oily ground. - On 18 Nov he confirmed the car was ready, sent the invoice, took full payment (R6 862.63), and only THEN admitted the system was still full of oil. He added a flush chemical and told me to drive it for a week — repeatedly assured me it was 100% safe. - Exactly one week later (25 Nov), after topping up low coolant, the car overheated 400 m from my house and is now completely undrivable. - Michael now says the entire cooling system ******* core, all pipes, radiator) must come out for chemical dipping at my additional cost. When I reminded him I paid in full and this is under warranty, he blamed me for “pressuring” him to release the car — despite him confirming it was ready and safe! - When I asked how I’m supposed to get an undrivable car back to him, his answer: “I don’t know.” - Told him I’m reporting him to the RMI — he smirked and said “go ahead”. This is not just bad service — this is outright incompetence and deception from someone who markets himself as an RMI-approved specialist. Using OMO, leaving cars exposed to rain, lying about completion, taking full payment for unfinished work, and then trying to charge thousands more is unacceptable. I have all WhatsApps, photos, the invoice, and proof of payment. Complaint already lodged with the RMI and this will be going to MIOSA and the NCC if necessary. Save yourself the nightmare — stay far away from Hatfield Motors cc t/a Ridgewood Auto Services. There are plenty of honest mechanics in Pretoria; this is definitely not one of them.
Don't go with Telkom! I went to their shop in Woodlands to report slow internet speed on my fibre line. A representative from telkom phoned me and guided me through the process of getting the matter resolved. She told me to swith off the modem so she can reset the "light" or something like that on their side and later asked me to switch it back on. I went from slow speed to no speed! NADA, ZERO, FKOL!!!!! She could not get the matter resolved and logged a call. I have been waiting and waiting and nothing is happening! Telkom cut my internet and I expect it to get sorted ASAP!!!! My hardware is not the problem, it's telkom that caused this problem and I need to run around and try to get answers, this is not fair!!! Call me!!!!!!!
