We looked forward to our stay very much for a long time. We stayed in this same apartment unit 1 in Klipper str with no problems at all a few years ago. This time was more like Faulty Towers. When we arrived we were told the rate is for 1 person and not 2 as advertised on Booking .com. The unit floor, carpet, balcony and steps were filthy. When asking the cleaner to clean it, she said she already cleaned it. When asking how the heated towel rack works, we were told it does not work and will not be fixed either. The security gate opened and closed randomly. The free WiFi that was advertised did not work at all. We were there for 2 weeks. Money we did not budget for, was buying data. I rinsed the dishes one evening and the whole basin full of fatty water fell out and flooded the unit including the carpet. The refrigerator that they advertise is a bar fridge that is faulty. It can not even make ice blocks. Totally insufficient for a 2 week stay. They also advertised an outdoor fireplace that was nowhere to be seen. We booked in advance as a reunion for our 2 children from the Western Cape to come join us over a weekend in the unit next to us, unit 2. Still no WiFi. Not even enough utensils to celebrate. 2 of everything only in each unit. Wash, wash, wash and wasting water. Very inconvenient and taking turns to eat and wait for a bowl etc. By no means cheap accommodation. What a great disappointment.
I bought 2 tickets for a certain price in a certain seating block. 2 days later I bought another 2 tickets in the same block. The computer showed the same price. I did not notice that the credit card payment auth was now R320 more expensive for 2 tickets. I wrote to them. They declined a refund for the overpayment. Nothing I could do as they had the credit card details.
