My experience with Chata Tech and Discovery household insurance is very bad. My Whirlpool microwave had an electrical sparks and was full of smoke. Discovery insurance sent Chata Tech to pick it up for evaluation. Discovery insurance rejected the claim because Chata Tech said that it was faulty as a result of wear and tear. This is a microwave that I bought R10, 000 3 years ago. The warrantee was for 2 years. The reason why one gets household insurance is to cover the appliances once its out of warrantee but this is not the case with Discovery insurance. How can a Whirlpool R10, 000 microwave stopped working within 3 years and you said its wear and tear? This is nonsensical. A microwave life span is between 8 and 10 years and not 3 years. I do not recommend discovery insurance for your household appliances because of my current and previous experience with discovery insurance.

Even a microwave of R1500 don't just stopped working in 3 years talk less of a microwave of R10, 000. My advise is that if you have any insurance claim with discovery household insurance, inform them not to send Chata Tech to pick up your appliances.
FOLLOW-UP REVIEW: CAPITEC BANK WANTS TO SWINDLE AND ***** MY MONEY. I POSTED A REVIEW ABOUT THEM TWO WEEKS AGO AND THEY ARE YET TO RESPOND TO IT. THEY PHONED ME TWICE PROMISING TO SORT OUT MY DISPUTE WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY AND TO GET BACK TO ME BY LAST WEEK FRIDAY THE 4TH OF JULY 2025 AND TODAY THE THE 9TH OF JULY AND CAPITEC BANK HAS GONE SILENT AGAIN. CAPITEC BANK, PLEASE, PAY ME BACK MY MONEY IMMIDIATELY WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY BECAUSE ITS BEEN 3 MONTHS SINCE YOU ARE HOLDING ON TO MY MONEY. I NEED MY MONEY BACK ASAP. R72, 855 IS NOT A SMALL CHANGE. PLEASE PAY ME BACK MY MONEY, PAY ME BACK MY MONEY, PAY ME BACK MY MONEY. YOU HAVE BEEN HOLDING ON TO MY MONEY SINCE APRIL 2025. THAT'S MORE THAN 3 MONTHS.
An amount of 72, 855 was paid into my account on the 16th of April 2025 for a bybit crypto trading sale. Capitec bank sent me an sms the next day saying that the transaction is reported as ***** and capitec bank withhold the fund and asked me to provide an affidavit and a certified copy of my ID and I made this document available to capitec bank including the proof of Nedbank payment that the person who paid the money sent to me. I have visited capitec bank branch more than 10 times on this matter. I have sent several emails correspondence to capitec bank ***** department and customer services but no response. It's been 71 days now but capitec bank has hold on to my money and has also refused to provide me with a feedback despite my numerous requests for them to get back to me. This is a bank that enjoys tormenting it's clients and derives pleasure in its customers anguish. The sms sent to me on the 18th of April says my account has been identified in suspected ***** but no further information after this single sms especially after I contacted them and they asked for my documents at the branch. It's been 71 days now. CAPITEC BANK SHOULD RELEASE MY MONEY THAT THEY ARE HOLDING ON TO IN MY ACCOUNT. THE MONEY IS IN MY ACCOUNT BUT ITS ON HOLD TILL TODAY.
