After starting the process of changing banking details on 6 October 2025 for a profile my wife holds with Old Mutual for over 30 years, I am now resorting to name and shame. This matter is still not resolved and I can only deduct this issue from burocracy and red tape. Several emails were sent, I visit the national head office full of excuses, a financial advisor got involved (from whom we received better assistance and communication) than any other Old Mutual employee, and several official Old Mutual documents were completed over and over again duplication at its best, we still receive excuses and total incompetence! As mentioned in the beginning of this post, all we want to achieve is changing banking details for a debit order of a life insurance policy. I have now become the biggest ambassador in South Africa to never consider Old Mutual for any form of advice or support. Your level of incompetence has severely surprised me. This message will be spread far and wide!
As a former employee of Stallion I understand the SOP's and protocols, or at least have a firm grasp. As my wife approached the entrance to the Paardevlei Precinct in Somerset West on the afternoon of 25 October, she waited several minutes for the security guard to come outside the guard house to scan the car license and open the boom gate. With no reaction she hooted to get the attention of the security guard who was preoccupied with his cellphone. This individual then walked outside of the enclosure and very aggressively shouted at my wife asking why is she hooting. She responded by asking why is he not focused on the gate and doing his duty. He rep**** that she can wait. I can handle a arrogant young security officer, but if he projects his insecurity onto a woman, and specifically my wife, I loose all logic and rationale. I have reported this to Brett Allen but I would appreciate feedback and disciplinary action.
I have been a long standing client of Outsurance, and recently interacted with their call centre. I have never experienced any problems and, once again the changes I made to my policy was actioned immediately and without challenges. Thank you Outsurance for taking care of my insurance needs.
