Security Negligence and Poor Assistance at Coastlands Hotel Musgrave, Durban I recently attended the PRIS event at Coastlands Hotel Musgrave and was very disappointed with the lack of proper security. When I arrived in the morning, I was directed by a security guard to park in the designated parking area. I even asked if they monitor the vehicles, since many cars were coming in and out for the event. The guard confidently said yes. However, after helping with parking, the security staff disappeared completely and no one stayed behind to supervise or monitor the cars. After the event, while I was getting ready to leave, a white man driving a Mercedes-Benz bumped into my hired vehicle and simply drove off without saying a word. I was told the hotel cameras were working and that management would look into it, but nothing was done. When the head of security finally arrived, he only seemed concerned about me filling out a report for his own records and not about what actually happened or how I was affected. Now I’m being left to deal with the damage to a hired vehicle that the hotel’s security could have easily prevented. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. The hotel might welcome you warmly at the reception, but once you park your car, you’re on your own. If you’re attending an event or staying overnight, think twice before trusting that your vehicle at this hotel.
I am extremely dissatisfied with the Vodacom Funeral Cover. They are very helpful when you first join their funeral policy, but they disappear when it's time to claim. They deliberately ask for additional documents, fully aware that such information is nearly impossible to obtain. I submitted a claim and provided all the requested documents. However, they are now demanding a toxicology report, which I was informed will only be available after at least six months. As a result, the claim has been put on hold until that report is submitted. I would **never** recommend anyone to join the Vodacom Funeral Policy. If you are already a member, I strongly advise you to look for another provider as soon as possible. Instead of mourning your loved one, you'll be left crying over money you're not even sure you'll receive — and that’s heartbreaking, especially if it’s the only support you're counting on. Out of all the policies I've come across, this is the only one that feels unreasonable and shows no empathy for people during difficult times.
