Security Negligence and Poor Assistance at Coastlands Hotel Musgrave, Durban I recently attended the PRIS event at Coastlands Hotel Musgrave and was very disappointed with the lack of proper security. When I arrived in the morning, I was directed by a security guard to park in the designated parking area. I even asked if they monitor the vehicles, since many cars were coming in and out for the event. The guard confidently said yes. However, after helping with parking, the security staff disappeared completely and no one stayed behind to supervise or monitor the cars. After the event, while I was getting ready to leave, a white man driving a Mercedes-Benz bumped into my hired vehicle and simply drove off without saying a word. I was told the hotel cameras were working and that management would look into it, but nothing was done. When the head of security finally arrived, he only seemed concerned about me filling out a report for his own records and not about what actually happened or how I was affected. Now I’m being left to deal with the damage to a hired vehicle that the hotel’s security could have easily prevented. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. The hotel might welcome you warmly at the reception, but once you park your car, you’re on your own. If you’re attending an event or staying overnight, think twice before trusting that your vehicle at this hotel.

315 Restaurant On Saturday 6 July my family & I booked to have a buffet lunch at the above restaurant. Its 295 per person & 150 for kids. The food was not prepared well & there wasn't a variety for people that don't eat beef. We paid so much for food we couldn't eat. We complained to the staff & they said they will notify the manager on Monday 8 July to date no one has called us. I feel the buffet is unsatisfactory & a waste of money

We held our yearly club lunch at this establishment and were sadly disappointed. We were advised that without paying the deposit they wouldn't confirm our booking and because of this our Treasurer repeatedly asked for a invoice before the event in order to make the necessary payment and this was never sent. On the day when our guests started arriving, they refused to seat them and advised this was because the payment was not made. When our Treasurer arrived he made the payment and they allowed us to be seated. There was 3 different prices given for the buffet which made it really confusing as clearly the staff don't even know what to charge. Furthermore, they said we had to pay additional as the buffet included seafood, which on the day was only steamed fish and mussels. Very disappointing. The variety of food on the buffet and the flavour and taste was basic and did not stand out in any way. Service was not great and when we asked for butter for the rolls from the buffet staff, we were advised that there was not any, but on asking our waiter we were able to get butter. Just not value for money and sadly the service is disappointing. We spoke to the manager on the day who said he would look into our complaints and get back to us.

Visiting the Coastlands Musgrave for their buffet on the 7th July 2023 second was absolutely Dismal. The food itself was so horribly prepared whilst the desserts literally got cooked under those lights. Extremely disappointed as I am still yet to receive feedback from management. Absolutely waste of time!!!

Awful hotel, they did not advise that they were under going construction. When I tried requesting a room further away from the noise, they wanted to charge me an additional R250 per night - I booked 3 rooms - this would cost me close to R2000 more to get away from the noise they've inflicted on me! Also their "courtyard" rooms face the stairwell and construction site. I would advise against staying here there are better hotels in this price range. In addition, my room was not cleaned properly
