Report back. Despite Compcare's apology and commitment to escalate my complaint 15 September 2025. I have heard nothing from them on this matter. However, on October 1 they continued to deduct the subscription for their ExtraCare scheme, which I cannot afford, and which I have not authorised. I cannot comprehend what they do not understand about “My income is insufficient to pay for their ExtraCare scheme”. If the money is not available from income, they have made a totally irrational choice to take it from my bank account. Currently my emergency/life savings account is seriously depleted.
We lodged a complaint with them 5 March 2025 with a claim against CompCare for deducting contributions, which I cannot afford from my pension and which I refused to approve. They appear to have done nothing and my emergency savings account is now short of almost R 30 000
I am 87 year old pensioner on a fixed pension, CompCare has placed me on their ExrraCare scheme despite that I have informed them that I cannot afford this from my pension income. I have requested to down grade to their SaverCare scheme. They have declined my request. I have advised them that I cannot approve payment, because the money is not available from my income, I was advised not to stop payment, as this could lead to unknown consequences. They have continued deducting contributions for ExtraCare, which I have made available from my emergency savings, pending a decision on a claim to the Council for Medical Schemes. However, currently CompCare have, in my opinion, ****** almost R 30 000 from me and no decision has been made. I could never recommend CompCare as a medical aid, I believe that they are ************s.
