In November 2025 I was interested in a flat called Markjan in Randfontein. I spoke to a lady called Sonya from Remax Randfontein, I wanted to view the flat and she told me I had to pay R400 for screening before viewing. Asked her what if I won’t like it after viewing but she told me it’s stand procedure. She promised me that once the money is paid she will schedule a viewing with me. I then paid with the hope that I would atleast view the place but to my surprise I am the one who kept calling them about the progress until weeks later when I was told that I had failed screening and won’t be able to view the place. I was on the market for flats at the time and it was my first time hearing about paying or screening before viewing. I had viewed several flats and did screening none of them failed.
I paid my Woolies store card via the Woolies app using card payment as I always do but this time around my payment was not accounted for. After receiving several emails and messages I decided to call them and sent my bank statement and proof of transaction from the bank with a stamp on it. Everything was clear but I kept on getting messages and with each call I had to send documents and all of them kept promising me that the payment will be allocated. I sent almost 10 emails and called 15 times already but up to this day they still say they need proof of payment. My account has been handed over and my name is on credit bereu affecting my credit score. I went to one of the stores for assistance and the person would be asked to send the documents each time I went and with a promise that it will be allocated but nothing. Last week I called and the person on the line told me straight that she doesn’t know what the problem is because my documents are in order. At this post I am really frustrated because my score is affected and I also use this account to buy my baby food and clothes.
On the 4th of October I wrote a review about fnb disputing and reversing my car insurance debit to pay their interest on overdraft without notifying me. I have received multiple calls and all of them said they referred the matter and promised to get back to me with a follow up. Up to this day my complaint was never solved, I even received an email that my complaint was closed.
I did not think that one day I’ll be changing fnb after so many years. I have an overdraft with them, there’s interest that they take every month for the balance on the overdraft, so when there are no funds in the account I get a negative that gets rectified or paid on the next date of my salary, when there are funds, it goes through at that time. So last month I paid all of my debit orders and I was left with a negative amount on my account due to that interest on overdraft, FNB then decided to reverse one of my debit orders which was my car insurance without my permission or letting me know to pay for the interest on the overdraft. It was only after a few days that my insurance called me to tell me that the bank had disputed the debit order and reversed the payment. I went to the branch and I was told that they have a right to do that and they don’t even need my permission to do so. Now I am at a point whereby I do not trust them, it means one day they could even reverse my car payment without even letting me know. So I am changing this bank that is putting my life at risk, what if something happened to the car and I tried to claim while I was not even aware that I am not covered ?????
