Women Abused outside Gateway Checkers Hyper
At 7:40 there was a women being abused and harassed outside Checkers Gateway, Umhlanga. I noticed the situation earlier. I tried calling the security guard from inside Checkers that was just 2 meters away from, separate by the glass doors. I tried making my body and make-shift sign language indicate that a women just a few steps away was in need of urgent help. He simply refused to consider me and signed with his hand that its not opening time yet. I understand that a Checkers security guard is in charge of the flow of people in and out of checkers. But this was happening right outside Checkers. Clearly the Checkers security doesn't hire/train guards to actually be of security help. Extremely disheartening considering the women was obviously scared, and Gateway mall security took forever to do anything. Apparent the perpetrator has harassed/abused her in and around Gateway before (as told to me by a Cleaning Lady). The lack of humane response from Checkers and Gateway mall is incredibly shocking.
