Extremely Disappointed – Deal Not Honoured I purchased a BMW M140i from iCar Gezina in Pretoria just over a year ago, and from the very first day I took delivery of the vehicle, it had drivetrain problems. I immediately informed the dealership and was instructed to take the car to an RMI-approved workshop for diagnostics. Over the past year, I struggled constantly to get the vehicle running properly. I claimed from the warranty multiple times, yet the drivetrain issue was never properly resolved. After driving the car just over 10,000 km in an entire year, I am still sitting with the same unresolved problem. Owning what should have been a premium vehicle turned into a stressful and frustrating experience. Despite this, I contacted them again recently to enquire about purchasing another vehicle. They offered me a BMW M4, agreed to settle the outstanding amount on the BMW M140i, and even offered a R50,000 cash back after settlement on the BMW M140i. Based on that agreement, I accepted the deal. However, after driving the BMW M4 for approximately 17 km on the evening of delivery, it picked up a drivetrain fault. The very next day, I returned the vehicle to the dealership. That is when things took a turn for the worse. I was then informed that there was a “serious problem” with the BMW M140i and that they would no longer honour the original agreement to settle the M140i and apply the R50,000 cash back on the BMW M4. In other words, after a deal had already been agreed upon and the vehicle delivered, they decided to back out. I found this extremely dishonest and unprofessional. Instead of taking accountability, they attempted to persuade me to continue with a revised deal that was not what had originally been agreed. I refused to continue doing business with an establishment that does not honour its commitments. I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. Transparency, integrity, and standing by your word are critical in the motor industry — unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
