Worst car rental experience of my life: 1. When we arrived at the airport our vehicle wasn't ready. We rented a small SUV and the rental was deducted from my Credit Card before we even arrived to collect the vehicle. The representative in the parking garage then offered another vehicle (a small sedan) - I indicated to him we will take the vehicle but requested a discount because it was a different class of vehicle. He said we already paid for the vehicle and there is no discount. I then insisted that we wanted the class of vehicle we paid for. He said we had to wait because the vehicle is still out. When the vehicle arrived they started processing it we loaded our luggage and then we were informed the vehicle is still blocked on the system because it was booked out for maintenance we need to wait for another vehicle. Needless to say that we had to stand in the parking garage until the other vehicle arrived - keep in mind there is no office where you can sit and wait because they operate out of the back of a vehicle... 2. Over and above the actual vehicle rental cost we paid we had to pay a "refundable" deposit of R13,300.00. This was part of the standard terms which I accepted. However what wasn't explained to us is that it may take up to 21 days before the deposit is refunded. Well here I'm sitting awaiting the refund - today is day 25 (24 Feb '26). I have phoned and followed up and every time there are just empty promises. I will definitely not make use of Green Motion again nor will I ever recommend them.
