Today, at Save Victoria Rd, I took an item that was clearly marked at R61.99 on the shelf talker and it unequivocally matched the description on the item itself. When I queried the R80.99 price at the till I was made to wait almost 10 mins for a supervisor to return and tell me the item was scanning according to the barcode it was assigned and the higher price was correct. I went with the supervisor back to the manager who then told me the item I wanted was a different flavour but then when I asked him to point it out he failed to show me where on the item package it showed this "different flavour" he was referring to. Even after him saying "I don't know where it shows the flavour" (verbatim) he was still adamant that it was the case. Clearly he is either illiterate or just couldn't care less to deal with me because they have enough customers - never mind that we actually have a CPA in existence. He then went back to the point that the item price is whatever it scanned. Then rudely he told me I can take it or leave it and he's not prepared to argue about an item description (which was the actual problem). As a customer, you pay for what is advertised and their incorrect assigning of barcodes is not a customer's problem. Otherwise they could put whatever description they feel and assign it to scan differently without any justification and this is what made me even more annoyed! Clearly from other reviews they have a continual problem with their pricing and other customers also experience clueless, rude management who don't know when to acknowledge that they have a problem in the store nor how to fix it. I have been buying there in bulk and in a personal capacity for years and have never experienced such unacceptable treatment. Now that our options are fewer after the looting it seems there is absolutely no shame in the arrogance and incompetence of the manager I dealt with. Businesses and individuals are struggling financially and to be treated in such a cut-throat manner leaves one cringing at the thought of returning to the store. Based on my previous positive dealings with senior management I'm sure this is not what Save PMB is striving for so managers need to be held accountable for these repeat complaints!
One star only because I can't give zero. Absolutely useless with communication until they hand you over. Unknowingly, medical aid didn't pay for my tests in November 2019 and then I get a call for the first time only at the end of January 2020 from Flowpath asking when my account will be paid! I ask for an invoice and statement to be emailed for verification and it doesn't come until 2 weeks later. Then I get a call from the attorneys starting that my account is overdue! Just looking at other reviews I can see they have been doing this for a long time. I will now always ask before tests are done where my bloods will be sent and never ever use them again!! Make u feel like you're such a bad payer getting calls from lawyers unnecessarily!
