I went to Game, Somerset Mall, on 5 January 2026, to buy a vacuum cleaner. Tarryn helped me, but the Bennet Reed that I wanted, was out of stock. She phoned on Friday and said they received 3. I said I'll come through on Monday, 12 January 2026. My husband has Parkinsons and we are from Herm****. I cannot leave him alone, or if I do take him with(which I did), I have to be accompanied by someone who can help with him. Arriving yesterday, all 3 were sold. She said on Friday 5hat they are not allowed to keep one for me, so, if that is the rule, it is not her fault. Another guy came (Othiwa?) And said he is going to make a plan. He brought a Black and Decker vacuum and said he is going to call Gerrie for a discount because the box was open and the instruction booklet was in a bad condition. I asked them why it is like that and if it is maybe returned by another customer, but they promised that it was opened in store. They swithed the handheld part on, and it worked. This part contains the machine, and what else can go wrong? Getting home in Herm****, I wanted to put it on charge, but the bottem part(pipe) could not click into the handheld part, and that made me realize that someone returned it for that reason. How can any bussiness sell a returned item without fixing or then returning it to the factory. This morning I phoned Game and spoke to Ottiwa(?) and he said he actually sells Bennet Reed, (although he convinced me that the Black and Decker is a much better vacuum than the Bennett Reed) and did not know why this one was in the storeroom. Long story short: Game should take responsibility for workers making these mistakes and customers who now has to come back to return the mistake, although circumstances for the customer to even get there in the first place, were of utmost difficulty. To get there again is the same, but yes, big companies won't care and will just ignore circumstances. I will never again buy anything more tha a cooldrink from Game, because you are thrown for the dogs after they received your money.
These people are real ****mers. They charged us for a receiver 4X the actual cost and I wonder if they have installed a receiver? When I asked where they are from, they said "we live somewhere around here". Their invoice states Cape Town, but now they are ****ming people in Herm****. When you call them they immediately tell you there call out fee is R450, (most of the other places ask R650+) but they forget to tell you about their labor cost, and overcharging of parts. They are rude and have no manners and smell of alcohol. Please don't use them! This will teach me to Google companies first.
