I recently received my renewal notice via email. I have subscribed for many years and always renew immediately.

This time I wanted to do the following:

1: Take advantage of the over 55 pricing

2: Stop getting delivery of The Times each day.

3: Continue to get the Sunday Times delivered

4: Continue to get the digital edition

I have had a number of calls from the renewal department and have had a number of new invoices issued, each time with a different combination of the above, and none of them correct.

Either I get The Times included, with over 55 pricing, or the The Times excluded without over 55 pricing, or I get the full bundle, but never the correct combination.

I do not want The Times delivered, because I do not get time to read it, so it goes straight into the bin. Not very green is it? A waste of paper, time and money for both parties.

If you offer an over 55 option, then why make it so difficult to implement?

These differing options are available on the subscriptions page on the web, but it seems I cannot change my current options.

I have given up. I will let the subscription lapse and forgo my Sunday morning read.

I bought an infrared camera (FLIR ONE) for Android from Instacom recently, and although they did initially send me the incorrect model, the service I recieved to correct the mistake was really good. Within 24 hours they had organised a courier to pick up the incorrect model and replace it with the correct one.

Furthermore, when the camera failed a few months later (not their fault, since they do not manufacture the cameras) , it was again replaced within 24 hours under warranty via courier.

Last week Thursday 23rd April, I bought some camping stuff from the Cavendish branch. I asked an assistant if they still stocked the Eco Star UV headlamp (with the UV LED). he went and fetched one from a display stand.

When I tried it, it did not work, but he assured me that there was a plastic cover over the batteries that need to be removed. I accepted that, paid and left.

Over the weekend I went camping, and was annoyed to find it did not work, even after replacing the batteries. A plastic cover over the batteries? - none.

I took it back on Tuesday, and to their credit, they replaced it without any bother, but here's the thing: The replacement was in the original packaging, the original had no packaging. When I suggested to the staff that the one I had bought originally had already been returned before and simply replaced on the shelf, they actually agreed that I was probably right!!!

No doubt hoping to sell it and hope it's not returned...

I've got one that works now, but I was sans headlamp for the trip. Not happy.

Vince
