I know this happened quite a while ago, but until now I have had no response after reporting the incident to head office. On 10 August 2019 I ordered a double deal. When the pizzas arrived, after I waited almost an hour, the dot was black. At that stage the pebble card machine of the driver was not working properly and he refused to take my money since the dot was black. I, however, felt sorry for him and did not want him to pay. I then phoned Debonairs Kraaifontein to explain the situation. The phone was answered by a Xhosa speaking lady. I may be Afrikaans but I can understand Xhosa extremely well. The first lady did not know what to say to me and passed the phone to another Xhosa lady. She then told me to "**** Off" and that I am a "cheapskate" for not wanting to pay. At this stage the driver was standing by me and she was on speaker. He scolded her for talking to me like that but she carried on. She proceeded to call me a dumb white woman and a liar, before throwing the phone done in my ear. After that she phoned me back three times to laugh at me. This incident was reported on the Debonairs website but till this day I have had no response. I refuse to support Debonairs and I consider them one of the most racist companies in South Africa.
Be very careful when invited for interviews by this company. They tell you over the phone it is for management, when in fact it is door to door sales. I can't believe the youth of our country is being exploited this way just because proper jobs are scarce.
