I tried to open an account with Standard bank, but I can't submit my FICA documents online. They told me to go to a branch to submit my documents, but their branches are only open during the office hours when I am also supposed to be at work. So I went to a branch during, reported to the front desk, but after 30 minutes of waiting, they still didn't help me. I had to get back to the office, so I still haven't opened an account. To think, if I could submit my documents online, this would've taken less than 10 minutes. No wonder the more modern banks are out-competing Standard Bank on retail accounts.
