I went there during my lunch break, as I have done many times before, to buy a bite of food. As I entered the door there were some clients awaiting their orders to come from the kitchen but no one in attendance at the counter. Their business telephone rang twice but no one came to answer. In fact, 2 employees walked right past (it may not have been their duty to answer the phone). As time went by, an employee acknowledged me through the hatch which divides FOH and kitchen. She then came out of the kitchen into the waiting are to ask if I had been attended to, to which I rep**** ''no''. That same employee turned to (what sounded like the FOH person behind the wall) to make her aware of me waiting on service. Shame! That person ignored her as well. That's when I put my bank card back into my purse, turned and walked to the next food business down the road. Extremely frustrated with L&T
I visited the Durbanville branch for dinner on Saturday 16th August a cold winter's evening (twice). The 1st and the last time. The service and total experience was a nightmare not to be repeated. Firstly, when we entered, there were about 6 - 8 guests seated in the place. Our host wouldn't let us sit at an open table across the fireplace as it ''is a 4 seater and you're only 2 people''. We graciously moved to a 2 seater next to the fireplace closer the glass doors. When we received our meal order, there was tuna instead of salmon in the sushi and the chicken portions in the noodle dish was triple bite sized. Our waitress tried to convince us to believe that their salmon ''looks like that'' and their tuna ''it's very red, not like the salmon in the sushi''. Then one of the staff opens a door behind my wife letting the very cold air onto her back. When she enquired about this, she was told ''the other patrons (seated in front of the fireplace where we were refused) did not like the smokey air in the restaurant. That, right there, was our best sign to vacate the building................and we did. Much to the giggling of some of the staff
What a pleasure to deal with such a friendly knowledgeable human. Tops….. Sipho Makhetha
I had the opportunity to visit the venue for winetasting and lunch on a Sunday together with the family. The visit turned into a wow experience from the offset and brought about by the friendly reception of the staff welcoming us. The tasting presentation was done in such a professional manner by our hostess. When it came to the lunch experience, it got even better with the beautiful restaurant (Stables) setting and staff's welcoming friendliness. And the food? Wow,wow, wow! We ended off by walking through parts of the gardens in and around the premises which capped off the totally awesome experience. We'll definitely be back
Sipho Makhetha is one guy who is acting more like an ambassador than an employee by the way he conducts himself and has my best interests at heart. Well done
