28 May 2016 I went to Medicine World and asked for vitamin C (ascorbic acid – a count of 30). The pharmacist on duty grabbed two bottles of capsules in front of him and told me they now come in 10’s I can take two. When I arrived home I saw I was given painamol (generic panado instead of the ascorbic acid.

I then addressed this with the nursing sister at the pharmacy; who then gave me the correct vitamins. At the cashier point to swap out the tablets (the cashier had to call the manager). The manager advised that he cannot swap out medication it is against the rules. His attitude was very ugly and not very customer friendly.

I did state that this was not the first time that I was given the incorrect medication/product – he replied: maybe the pharmacist was busy, maybe he didn’t hear you correctly. This is all unacceptable excuses that should not happen at a pharmacy. Someone’s life can be at stake.

I will not support this pharmacy ever again!

I am a regular shopper at Checkers Maerua Mall - weekly shopping. as of late I have experienced lower grade food items.
o Meats (sell by date is the current day of shopping or of the next day. We had to throw away burger patties today (smelt foul and the color had gone off) bought this past weekend.
o My wife and I bought curry noodle salad this past weekend (to take along to a braai). We found that the curry noodle salad was not edible (overpowered by curry powder). We all coughed and could not digest it.
Other than food stuff, pricing seems to always be a problem. We budget and set ourselves to purchase for a certain amount. I am always having to go scan certain items because we are never sure of prices or fear being wrongly charged at the till points.
Checkers...please improve your food and pricing quality.
On the 21st September 2015, I went to Clicks (Golden Acre) with a prescription to purchase insulin. I was assisted by a pharmacist by the name of Shameelah Abrahams. Upon receiving the insulin, I asked basic questions about the product. The pharmacist seemed unsure of all my questions and concerns - she kept consulting another pharmacist. The product I received was given to me at the pharmacy wrapped and sealed. So at that moment I had no idea what it entailed. Shameelah and company lead me to believe that the insulin box contained 3 disposable insulin pens. I was unsure and went directly to my doctor again - only to find out that the box given contained 5 disposable insulin pens and (NO NEEDLES).
I was furious, why was I not offered needles or advised that I should purchase some? I then had to source needles at another pharmacy. Another waste of fuel and parking. This is not the 1st time I received bad service from Clicks (Golden Acre pharmacy). Everyone seems unfriendly and not eager to help.
I would like to suggest that Clicks (Golden Acre pharmacy) familiarize themselves with medication or get training.
