My wife and I decided to invest in our dream motorhome, and it appeared that only Vista could give us the level of customization we wanted. Our best dealings with them happened up to the point we signed the dotted line. Everything went downhill after that.

From huge delays in delivery, to discovering that parts of our build had been done using substandard materials, to shoddy workmanship and a lack of detail to important details, to discovering that many of our requirements had been ignored, our relationship with Vista has been an unmitigated disaster.

The worst of it is that the owner has done absolutely nothing to manage our expectations, left numerous emails unresponded to and messages to call unanswered. Our 'handover' was a disaster. No promised 3 hour demo on how the numerous fittings and appliances work alone or with each other (I learnt by knocking my head in the main). We have lost all faith in Vista and have abandoned our warranties, simply because they never respond or take us seriously. We have lost faith iand I urge anyone contemplating purchasing a motorhome to think carefully before looking at Vista. We have gone to one of their competitors to resolve our issues.
In the early evening 15th January, my wife and I were faced with an aggressive and clearly intoxicated ex-gardener who wouldn't leave our property and we felt threatened. I called SAPS Kirstenhof and advised them. Within fifteen minutes, two highly efficient and professional officers arrived , defused a potentially unhappy situation and escorted the man from our premises. This isn't the first time I have witnessed the efficiency of those at SAPS Kirstenhof. They truly are there for us. Keep up the good work!
We have a link to Mountain Men security which is activated by a panic button. On the evening of the 15th January and at about 6.30pm I called Mountain Men, since we had a situation developing at our home. Our recently dismissed gardener had arrived at our premises and had clearly had a lot to drink. He refused to leave our premises and was constantly ringing our doorbell. He was aggressive and we felt threatened.

The switchboard operator called me and said she would send someone to us, but after half an hour nobody had arrived and I pressed the panic button again a few times, With no response. My husband then called Mountain Men and was put through to the lady who I had spoken to earlier. She expressed no surprise that nobody had been sent and assured my husband that she would get someone to us and call back to confirm. We heard nothing further and my husband called the SAPS who promptly dispatched 2 efficient officers who escorted our ex-gardener away. We never heard from Mountain Men again, nor did they send anyone.

We pay good money for the 'peace of mind' we believed Mountain Men would give us. In our view, one failure is one too many. So disappointed. Terminating contract.
I booked 2 local tickets from Jhb to Cape Town for my family , scheduled to depart at about 18h00 on 26th October 2015. About 24 hours before the flight was due to depart I received an SMS from Skywise informing me that they had rescheduled the flight to 20h00. Since the revised departure date did not suit me, I had to book with another carrier and paid for 2 further fares.

I subsequently called Skywise who assured me that this wasn't a problem and that I should contact their refunds department. A strange phenomenon is that the skills and service levels of those in the refunds department does not match those of the personnel in the new bookings department, since the latter seem to be exceptionally good at transacting. To the contrary, the personnel in the refunds department are perhaps a figment of our imagination. I have been trying for coming on 2 months now to get my refund. The refund department's phone is not answered for hours on end (ask my secretary - she held for over 3 hours without reply!) and when it is eventually answered, one learns that the refunds staff work half days. Go figure! I'm not holding my breath, but hope springs eternal. Are they facing liquidation?
