My Dad purchased a newly built house from the Bateleur Estate in Nelspruit about four years ago. He has since passed away, but the cost of repairs exceeds R10 000.00 already. We have spoken to the estate maintenance department as well as the architects. Neither are prepared to instruct the builder to repair anything despite a 5 year latent defect clause between themselves. For example, the paint specified on the drawings has a 10 year guarantee. We now have to repaint as the water is ingressing into the walls causing internal cracks and warping window sills.
Disabled persons aren't always capable of submitting applications themselves and need to rely on others when their parents pass away, which in turn creates other problems. The GEPF seems to look for any and every excuse not to grant these pensions including requesting documents that are not on their checklist, as well as documents a disabled person wouldn't be able to source without great difficulty. I have been trying to assist my disabled sister with her application for FOUR years - she hasn't received a cent yet even though our mother paid into the fund for many years. The GEPF should THEMSELVES facilitate the process from start to finish
The GEPF does not honour the wishes of their deceased clients. Having worked for the government and paying into the GEPF for many years my Mom passed away in May 2020. According to her pension plan my disabled sister is supposed to receive a child pension. To date, she has not received a cent despite many submissions, telephone calls, re-certification of documents and costly courier deliveries. The reply to our latest query was that their system had been down for three weeks (Its been almost four years).
Great help from the Thabazimbi branch.
This is actually a complaint about a broker who activated an Old Mutual Insurance policy before it was accepted resulting in three debit orders to date, two of which I have been struggling to have reversed.
Extramarks was recommended by FNB and their reward program ebucks. They have however deactivated some of their packages, but have not stated this anywhere on their website, nor have they deactivated the payments linked to the same packages. The payment is "successful" according to payfast and the bank, but an error then appears when trying to activate the product purchased. Disappointment for teenagers trying to make use of this service over the holidays.
Medical subsidy and a child pension application submitted 30 September 2022. The phone does not get answered. e-mails are not replied to (even if acknowledged automatically)
Huge thank you to the ladies at the FNB Thabazimbi for helping my sister and me. They were incredibly patient, kind and understanding while remaining professional throughout our various visits.
