Hello Peter When i was insured by Budget insurance, my car had to be taken in for repairs of the front bumper. Then budget insurance hired a courtesy car for me, from budget car hire. A week-o-so after that, there was a heavy storm at about 20H30 as I was driving home. I then took shelter at a filling station. I then started driving home on Jan Smuts Street, there was standing water on the street and the car went under that water. I then called budget car rental to let them know what has happened. they then came the next day dropped off another car and had the other one towed. When the carhire expired i took in, but never got back my deposit which i was told it was excess to the damages that happen on the first car. Two years later i receive mails from attorneys demanding R113 000 for the damages of the car. I then contacted budget insurance in this matter, i was told not to worry as my policy had third party liability, this would be taken care. And that budget carhire now trading under bivest car rental were suppose to log a claim with them as they are the ones who hired the car on my behalf. A year later the same attorneys issued me with summons as the matter was not resolved with Budget insurance. Now budget insurance say they cannot pay bidvest as this was water damage. 1. I never went to hire a car, the car was hired by Budget insurance on my behalf. 2. I thought the car was insured by budget insurance or the carhire people. 3. Why was i told that the deposit was the excess 4. I never drove the car into a river, i was driving on a public tar road. 5. As a consumer i don't know the contact between the two parties, now why must i carry the costs 6. what does third party liability mean. 7. Carhire is an extra service that one pays for every month with the insurance company, does i mean if you get an accident while driving a hired car your insurance has nothing to do with it. Below are some emails where bidvest car hire advice budget not to pay. As per the contract we would not have advised Telesure of the claim as Telesure was no longer self-insured and hence customer is then liable for all damages to our vehicles. The car was written off due to water damage, our waivers do not cover water damage and hence the client will be liable for the full cost of the vehicle. This was then sent through to our Lawyers for collection of the outstanding monies (As per the attachments) Kind regards Alden Regional Sales Manager - Replacement Bidvest Car Rental T: +27 11 F: +27 M: +27 E: ********** A: 15 Anvil Street, Isando Johannesburg, Gauteng From: Evelyn ********** Sent: Wednesday, 19 September 2018 7:42 AM To: Alden ********** Cc: Sunette ********** Subject: FW: ********** 6501 Hi Alden, Please see below: Kind regards Evelyn Team Manager: Telesure Group Services Tel: +27 Auto & General Park 1 Telesure Lane Riverglen Dainfern South Africa 2191 From: Sunette Sent: Tuesday, 18 September 2018 9:59 AM To: Evelyn De ********** Cc: OA Third Party Legal ********** Leonard ********** Subject: FW: ********** 6501 Hi Evelyn, I refer to the abovementioned matter.
A year ago my bmw broke down in Johannesburg, Required an engine change. The service Department at Pinnacle Auto Bmw helped me out in a way i could not even imagine. The costs for the engine relpacement were very high and i did'nt have that kind of money . They then went bought and installed the engine at their cost, and told me to repay them in installements. They did great work on the engine and other work that needed to be done to get my car back on the road. These guys treated me like family. And I forever be greatfull to them. Special thaks to Johan the service manger ,who was making sure everything went well, Werner the technician: this guy knows his story and to Zanele the aftersales Consultant for ensuring all the paperwork was done prompt and properly.

PS Not forgeting Mandla and Michel.

Thank you

I was sold a warranty gap cover by MFC, in which I was told that it works whether you have an existing warranty or not. My vehicle then broke down due to electrical failure, when I called MFC I was told to call after my primary my primary warranty has authorize the claim, where the quotation was R23782,98, the primary warranty authorized R8000. when I called MFC to let them know that the primary warranty has authorized the repairs. They then called the dealer where my car is, and they called me back advising that I should cancel my MFC 'GAP Cover\policy because I already have the "Gap Cover\"" with my primary warranty"
