Really lovely place. We have been there twice now - the first time was for a standard family dinner after a show. The staff were lovely - friendly, kind and helpful. The food was superb. The second time was for a birthday dinner for my teen son and his friends. I made a booking via email and, despite a number of changes to the booking by me on the morning of the event, everything was set up perfectly and ready for us upon arrival. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was again really good, and they even went above and beyond by treating my son to a specially decorated plate with a bowl of ice cream as a surprise birthday treat. I definitely recommend this place and think we might very well have found our new favorite family restaurant.
The accommodation is nice - very clean and contained everything we needed. The lounge area is incredibly small for 4 people, but given the price we paid I suppose adequate. There is no mention that there is a long steep flight of steps from the garage up into the accommodation, so if the guest is less than fully mobile, this would pose a huge problem. It also kept me permanently on my toes thanks to a very active 1 year old (there is a gate at the top of the steps but the 1 year old could almost squeeze through the bars, and it is somewhat tricky to hold a baby whilst unlocking the gate and moving up and down the stairs all at the same time. The driveway is also at such an angle that it ripped the underneath of our car to shreds when we left. There is no warning of the sharpness of the rise at the top of the driveway, nor any attempt at adding some kind of ramp to lessen the huge bump, and so it literally ripped the plastic casing that covers all the essential parts of the underneath of the car to shreds. Thankfully no structural damage was done to the car itself, aside from some bad scratches, but it will now cost us quite a lot of money to fix that casing. When we informed the owners, we were simply told that the engineers say nothing can be done due to the way the rain falls. No apology, no nothing. They even went as far as to admit other guests have also mentioned it damages their cars, yet still they fail to put up a warning sign or give any suggestions on how to safely exit the property without damaging your car. So if you go there, make sure you go in a 4x4 or something will a really high underside of the car, because any standard car definitely incur damage. Alternately, make sure you empty the car of all passengers and luggage BEFORE entering/exiting the property.
I took my son to the ten pin bowling at Grand West on Saturday for his birthday party. All the staff were absolutely amazing, especially the management staff. Both Yolanda and Felicity were so helpful. Yolanda answered all our questions the week before, and Felicity sorted us out on the day. I have rarely experienced such good service anywhere.
I have not yet had to claim so cannot comment on that, but the customer service I have received so far has been exceptional. Always very quick responses to questions. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
