Service at DEFY - Montague Gardens in Cape Town is really bad. Whenever you deal with them their service is atrocious - and NOT just during this covid time. I have had to buy spares from them before - with the exact same issues. 1. You can never get hold of their spares department. 2. The receptionist takes your details to get them to phone back, which they NEVER do. It is almost impossible to speak to someone who knows anything. 3. I finally (after many attempts) spoke to a man in spares department and he "SAYS" he ordered my part and that it will be there in 10 days. I went in after 17 days and was told they don't have stock. The lady who assisted me was rude when I asked why did her colleague tell me the part would be there. Her reply was, "Well, you never spoke to me." EXCUSE ME?! So are her colleagues so useless that nothing will get done unless you speak to HER specifically? 4. She went ahead and ordered my part (again) but said she doesn't know when it will be in, and she will give me a call. I know I will wait for that call for the rest of my life. The service is so bad, and they need to realise that they are there to assist customers who have put their faith in DEFY, and should customers need spares for their ****ty products, they need to do better to assist.
It took 2 days of trying to get hold of someone at Giovannis Restaurant at Eikendal Winery. EVENTUALLY got through via the operator. Had a waiter answer the phone and he asks, "What do you want?" Wow! So I then spoke to a manager and he said that their phones are working fine and that I couldn't get through because there must be something wrong with MY phone. Really?! So then why could I leave messages that no one responded to, or get through via operator?? Such a bad first experience that I changed my mind in going to eat there.
I hired Johan from Cape Cupboard Doctor (tel: + ********** 0689) by referral to come and add a drawer in my kitchen. He came and took measurements. He left and the next day he sent me a message that he needs a deposit in order to buy the materials. I was a little hesitant, but I never thought he would be dishonest, even though he looks like a drunk. After that I battled to get hold of him and he would send an occasional message to say that he will come by. Then I would not hear from him for a while. I said that I was going to report him to the police, and he asked me for a second chance to fix his mistake. And of course this was to no avail. Now I cannot get him to respond, so I am opening a case of theft against him. I contacted the person who referred Johan to me, and he apologised profusely as he did not know Johan was like that and that he had recently heard from another person that Johan had stolen money from after promising to do their kitchen. Not too sure if they are actually in cahoots. Another review on this site has had the same thing happen to her. THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE CAUGHT AND STOPPED!!!
