I first enquired about the Kia Sonet back in November 2024, and that’s when I received a call from Linton Witbooi. Due to some personal circumstances at the time, I wasn’t able to go for the test drive, but Linton didn’t forget about me. He followed up again in January 2025, and we finally scheduled that long-awaited test drive. I drove the Kia Sonet and instantly fell in love. At the time, I was still driving my trusted Datsun Go. We went ahead with my finance application, but unfortunately, I didn’t qualify due to my credit score. Gerda in F&I was very supportive and advised me to try again in 3–4 months once I had worked on my score. I told Linton we’d do the application in July as a birthday gift to myself. Life, however, had other plans. I was recently in an accident with my beloved Datsun Go and was forced to part ways with it. I now urgently needed a vehicle. And just like that, one month earlier than planned, my dream came true — not just with any Sonet, but with a brand new 2025 Kia Sonet in the beautiful Pewter Olive. Linton, thank you for walking this 9-month journey with me. You never gave up, always checked in, sent sneak peeks and photos, and most importantly — you always reassured me that I would drive my Sonet one day. And today, I am proudly doing just that. Your service, care, and dedication have been exceptional. From the very beginning right through to after-sales, you’ve made me feel like more than just a customer. On the 20th December I made my monthly payment of R124 for my Easy View Subscription. Because its December holidays and my salary could allow me I called DSTV to do a upgrade to Compact Plus which I would like to keep as my daughter enjoy the channels. I called and was told I must pay an additional R467 which I did at that very moment. So which means I paid in total R591. When I did the upgrade I made sure and I asked the person on the phone will this be the only amount i have to pay until my next payment and he gave me the assurance it was. 6th January my dstv gets switched off. My thinking is maybe its just a signal error. I go on the DSTV app to clear the error and I'm told I owe DSTV. I call DSTV JHB call centre to find out whats going on they tell me I need to reach out to my bank as the funds was reversed. I call my bank which is FNB and they tell me no funds was reversed they have no clue what DSTV is talking about. I call DSTV again which I now spend 50minutes on the phone wasting my airtime and my time. I spoke to Jose again at JHB branch who then tells me that I need to send a bank statement showing that I paid DSTV since I make cash payments. I send the bank statement and she then confirms that it could be a DSTV error and that she and her manager will look in to fixing it while im put on hold. Eventually she comes back to me and tells me that my account needs to be amended and that takes 24hours. 7th January - My dstv is still off after 24hours I call again wasting again my airtime and time . While talking to the agent my dstv all of a sudden goes back on. While Im on the phone with him, I check my app which now states I must pay R799 which I then questions him about and he tells me that no on the payment date it will update. Also I got charged a re-connection fee of R50 and additional R83.71 which is he then says no it will be removed. Fine no problem my DSTV is back on my daughter can watch her cartoons. Today 12 January- I wake up and to my surprise my DSTV is back off. SO if I remember correctly on the 7th January it was told my DSTV will be on till payment date. Its 13 days before payment date and my DSTV is off. This time I have had it with DSTV I refused to waste my time and airtime to repeat myself and go through this again. If i check the app I get told I now owe R224.19. And everytime I ask for a confirmation email to confirm what is said DSTV refuse to send it. The level of customer services I went through over this couple of days is ridiculous. The fact that I get told lies numerous times over and over. I'm starting to rethink of keeping this DSTV because this DEcember and January I have had endless and endless problems. I want my DSTV back on I refuse to pay anything until my payment date. ANd i will only pay my subscription fee which Im suppose instead of additional things which is not my fault , Everytime a different thing is added to my bill. I'm sick and tired now.
