I have a client that wanted to upgrade their router to a faster newer router and we contacted Herotel to ask if they would provide the PPPoE login details for the new router or maybe come and set up the new router themselves. Firstly they didn't want to do either which I don't understand in this day and age from an ISP and secondly the technician was rude about the request and said that my client should cancel his fibre if he's not happy about the response. I recommend staying away from Herotel at all costs if possible.
There were multiple miss communications, and I nearly lost a client, eventually I convinced the client that I could sort out the cut-over. After 3 weeks they finally had the system up and running and when I enquired about the R1000 Takealot voucher the advertise for new client referrals and sign up I got no response. I'm honestly not sure if I will recommend them to new clients
So I went to Telkom Irene because I work in Route 21 Business Park which is less than a minute away to have a Telkom line reconnected that hasn't been used in 2 years or so, just to be told that they don't do re-connections but only new orders. I have to go to a Telkom-Direct store that I now have to find first that will be able to help me, which proves that Telkom is only interested in taking money from new clients. The exact reason I would always insist that every company i do work for to move away from Telkom as service provider and will never suggest them for any reason.
