I purchased a pair of sunglasses from Sunglass Hut (25 November 2020, Edgars, Tygervalley, Cape Town) and upon arriving home I discovered a small chip on the inside of the one lens. I immediately took it back the same day to swop it, but as it was the last pair, I asked them to do a refund. The salesperson informed me it will take 7 working days to process. Last week I inquired about it writing to the refund department but had no response. I called twice, but after holding on the line for 22 minutes and 17 minutes respectively, I abandoned that idea. I went back to the store and the salespersons showed me proof that they processed my request on 27/11/2020 and sent it to their head office. Today 14 days later I again email and only received an incident number to my hugely frustrated email. Customer service is so poor, I swear I won't ever set foot into one of their stores. I just want MY money back that they owe me!
I came across this business in January 2016 as I had wooden furniture that needed restoration. After meeting the owner, Marietjie, I delivered my furniture to her and she qouted me on the job. It was just over R12000 and she requested deposits before the work could commence. I had a dining room table and chairs as well as a wooden lounge suit that needed the wood restored as well as new seats and backrests. Marietje informed me that I would need to pay for the material as well as sponge (that would be used in the seats and backrests). The job was booked in mid January and she informed me that I would have my job completed 14 February 2016. As the job completion day approached she informed me she is running behind as a result of too much work, which I completely understood. over the next few week i got my items back and she promised she would have the cushions ready by end Feb. Weeks followed and after countless messages and feeble excuses from her, I knew she was not going to supply the seats and backrests which I already paid for. After texting her and asking her straight out what was happening, she just choose not to respond. Pls be careful when doing business with her!
In December 2013 I bought a dishwasher from Defy. It is therefore still in guarantee. Four days ago we discovered that it does not complete the wash cycles and ends after the first cycle on all 4 programs. Contacted Macro,CapeGate, who said they will lodge complaint with Defy got the job number&technichan came today. He was in my home literally 5 minutes& told me it was an overflow pipe that just needed a nudge. He reset the machine and told me it's fine. It was not!! and my whole kitchen was flooded after trying to run a program. Phoned Defy who said they would call the technician back, took my details&after I called them for 4 hours this afternoon, no one answers, even when calling direct extension numbers! This is the 3rd Defy appliance I have had issues with and would never buy Defy again. The customer service department in Cape Town is just terrible! Why don't they answer phones or call you back like they said they would? These people have no customer service skills!!!!
I have posted a complaint before, but want to get word out as widely as possible about this conman. He is not a contractor and will take your money and not complete the work. Save yourself money and do not in any way have any business with this despicable man! He has no morals and is a pathological liar. I can support every single claim I make against him.
