My experience with File Editor has been extremely disappointing and concerning. Money was deducted from my account without proper authorization, which should never happen with a legitimate service. When I contacted their support team to report the issue and request a refund, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. Despite clearly explaining that the charge was not authorized, they refused to process a refund. This raises serious concerns about their billing practices and their commitment to fair customer service. Taking money from customers without clear authorization and then refusing to correct the issue is unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious before using this service or providing any payment details. Based on my experience, customer protection and accountability do not appear to be a priority.
I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with Alpha Metering. They disconnected my ability to purchase electricity without warning and were extremely rude when I tried to resolve the issue. Instead of offering a solution, they insisted that I pay a R175 “late payment fee” — a charge that was never explained, agreed to, or communicated beforehand. The entire interaction felt unprofessional, and the service delivery was poor. I felt as though I was being held ransom just to restore access to a basic necessity. I have since reported the matter to the Rental Tribunal. After engaging with them, I learned that disconnecting electricity in this manner is not allowed. I am sharing my experience so that the community is aware of what I went through when dealing with this company. I hope this helps others make informed decisions.
Two months ago, Alpha Metering was appointed by the Body Corporate, replacing a reliable smart metering company with whom we had a simple and efficient process for purchasing electricity. Since their appointment, Alpha Metering has blocked my access to purchase electricity and imposed an unreasonable penalty fee of R175. I refuse to be pressured by an unprofessional company attempting to operate in a space far beyond their capability. I have reported this matter to both the Rental Tribunal and CSOS. Companies that lack ethics and proper service delivery should not be allowed to operate in this manner. I requested that this trivial and unjustified amount be rescinded, but they refused and responded unprofessionally, even suggesting that I am the problem. If anyone else is experiencing similar issues, please share your experience so we can bring awareness to companies that attempt to exploit innocent consumers.
Discovery is the worse health cover I experienced, I have been with them 27 years on and off, with very minimal requirements for health cover. In 2020 they removed me from the medical stating I didn’t disclose a condition that was not diagnosed and only in 2023 when I attempted to join them again because my company was aligned with Discovery, I was forced to attain cover. On acceptance, the so called diagnosis that they removed for was wavered only after I proved the test results that I paid cash for. Then I rejoined them and I visited my doctor for my BP monitoring and medication was changed due to complications with the previous meds. Upon discussion I advised my Dr that I am experiencing side effects of the pill and she suggested I go in for a scope just to rule out some conditions. When I requested authorisation, I was accused of not disclosing a medical condition. They then diagnosed me with oesophageal disease without any scope or scans. How can a medical aid give you a condition that was not clarified by a certified physician. I have spent more money for a second opinion and my doctor suggested a screening and they rejected that. I am suffering daily and they debit my account and refuse to return my funds because they believe I had cover. However not to mention that when their admin department took a month to convert my cover from company to person they suspended the cover for that month and then asked me to repay the month that I didn’t have cover. These large corporations think people are numbers to increase their revenue. This is one platform I will be raising this issue, I plan on making this matter heard.
I am absolutely shocked with Miway, I was sold Maintenance insurance a value added service and when my Cooling fan needed replacement they said that this part was not covered. It says Cooling system covered but only two components covered. As a layman, I don't know the different components that a car comprises of. Therefore I sought advise from the experts, well thats what we assumed they were. I will not use them and use other insurers who provide better service. I am at a loss of R20 000 after paying R199 per month for a few years, plus my car premium.
I am still waiting for the Owners details, my car went in to be repaired and it was taken for 41 kms test drive at 8pm at night. When I addressed it, I was given all sorts of stries. The could have been tested stationary.
