On 2 March 2024, my vehicle mirror was damaged as a result of the falling delineator on the NI highway between Worcester and Rawsonville turnoff. I was on my way to Cape Town back from Robertson when the above got swayed by the wind and hit my left passenger side mirror. I reported the incident to a certain Mr Thinus de Jager who is the project manager for the construction company called Actophambili Roads appointed to rehabilitate part of the N1. Upon submitting the required evidence, I sent him the pictures as well as the quotations. Since then, it has been a back-and-forth blame game between the main contractor, Actophambili Roads, and the Sub-contractor, Sukunikezela Construction reportedly responsible for traffic management during the roadworks on the NI , Western Cape. Consequently, the requested quotations for the damaged mirror (which I was asked to source by Actophambili Roads) have not been processed and my mirror has not been repaired after a month already. I strongly believe that Sanral, as a credible institution, has a responsibility to protect their reputation by ensuring that they appoint experienced and credible construction companies who respect the rights of motorist and that in the event of any incident/accident caused by their negligent behavior they are held directly responsible. I am NOT the only once who has submitted claims for damaged to vehicles to these companies - there is a whole lot and they are so nonchalant and arrogant about it -acting with absolute impunity.
Goodhope Tyres (Brackenfell) has the most pathetic service I have ever experienced and I will never recommend them to anyone including my friends and family members. On 16 April 2022, I bought brand new tyres from them for my old Toyota Yaris and asked them to sort out balancing and alignment. I trusted them. However, I discovered a week later that my vehicle wasn't stable on the road and couldn't figure out what could have been the problem. I suspected that the problem could be with my suspension because the tyres are new. So today, 20 April 2022, I took the car in for inspection and diagnostic assessment at the HiQ Cape Town Branch. They found that my rear rims are buckled and were shocked that Goodhope Tres could not detect it when they were doing alignment two or so weeks ago. I subsequently spoke to them about it because my life could have been placed at risk by their incompetence. A certain Willie, their incompetent technician, did a shoddy job for if I knew I would have done everything that day and they do not want to take responsibility for it.
MTN South Africa is increasingly becoming a very unreliable network and this has been going on for years now. Just recently, I have has running battles with them regarding the terms of my contract. They debited my account more than what was agreed to and I reported this as potential fraud. Now, just yesterday my account was debited twice than the normal monthly premium. When I called in this morning, their response was that they are migrating from the 'old systems' and therefore cannot locate my details unless I call within 48 hrs. This is absolutely nonsense and I just waiting for my contract to end so that I can dissociate myself with these people. As such, I wouldn't recommend them to any of my friends and family members. Its going south there and their service is PATHETIC.
The AMV Hardware Group is such an unscrupulous, shady, shameless bunch, with extremely unethical staff - which includes the entire management. On March 17 2016, I went into their store, situated in Kraaifontein, Old Paarl road, next to 7/11 store, to buy cubes of sand and bags of cement. I bought the material, worth about R1000.00. The following day, Friday 18 March, they were scheduled to deliver all the materials but not every item and the quantity I paid for was delivered. I went to enquire the following day, Saturday 19 March 2016, only to be told that they messed up on their side. I bought additional sand and cement bags, inclusive of the one they still owed me, and I paid R571.00. AMV Hardware NEVER DELIVERED. I went back again on 21 March 2016, this time around to DEMAND MY MONEY BACK. They sent me from pillar to post, claiming that the problem was with my bank .... I sent them proof, in the form of a bank statement that the money wasn't paid into my bank account. They have still not paid, and here it seems I am dealing with a MONSTER.
I have a car insurance with Prime Meridiam Direct since 2011. I was involved in a car accident and my car got damaged. I reported the accident at SAPS and subsequently submitted all claim documentation to Prime Meridian on 29 December, 2014. To date, I have not received any decision on the claim and despite numerous attempts, I am being sent from pillar to post - 4 months later. Its been very frustrating and they dont seem to care. The worst part is that I reported to them that because of the accident, my car does not lock, so its kept open since January 2015 and to them this is not an emergency. I have wasted money, calling them every week and they will make promises, I have lost count. They keep promising to sort it out. I cant go to the shopping malls because my car doesn't lock and Prime Meridian does not regard that as an issue at all. Prime Meridian have breached theri contact with me in the sense that the contract commits to finalising all claims within ONE month but now with its FOUR MONTHS.
