We asked for Gardens Locksmiths three times to come out to a block of flats 1km from them to look at a faulty door swing mechanism. They cancelled three times and on enquiry the owner was belligerent to falsely allege (i.e. lie) that an unnamed woman had called to cancel the call out. It is unfortunate because their technicians are great but owner/manager is rude and awful to clients.
After multiple phone calls excedding R500.00 I exhausted all avenues it would seem to get any sense out of anyone at this dysfunctional bank where from one entity to another (Call Cente/Gardens Branch/Credit Card Division ) a vacuity exits when it comes to product knowledge or how to remedy an issue that obviously has not been thought through, namely that if one is not able to walk into a branch office in South Africa, for reasons of being abroad or incapacitated etc, one cannot make any changes so that online transacting with a Nedbank credit card is impossible. Furthermore Nedank has NO faciltiy via PayPal or any other online payment system. A contemporary financial institution it patently is not, stuck in in a retrogressive mindset when banks were less accountable for performance and client service. Calls promised are rarely to never returned and staff sound as interested to serve as an anaethetized slug. It is an instituion out of touch in an era of technology and computerization concommitant with a egaliterization of social power structures. Mediocrity magnified magnificently. Pathetically cynical in its approach. Time to jettison this bank and move on in the 21C.
