I bought a fibre monthly contract by telephone on the discussed condition that it would be a monthly contract with no fixed time. I checked that the description on the first invoivc read "35MBPS monthly plan". Now that I want to give a months's notice I am told that I am tied to a "24 or 12 month" contracy. I asked to listen to the sales converstion, which I was told would be recorded, but to no avail. I spent 38 minutes on the phone but got no joy. Transferring me to "billing" resulted in my call being lost and I had to start again. Any idea what I can do next?
Great service at reasonable prices. Loan cars and fixed time appointments available.. Brutally honest too. They do not sugar coat bad news!
On Friday 4th December I queried an entry on my Master card by telephone. at about 13H37. The agent promised to come back to me within an hour and put a block on my account the interim. He did not come back to me. On Monday I called and told the agent I am happy with the transaction. I was told the block is lifted I tested by doing an EFT from my current account which sailed through. When buying something later my credit card was still blocked! I phoned again to be told that I got security question wrong and now all is blocked pending a visit to a branch. The only branch near me has a queue of 20 people outside!!! I am 79 years old and simply cannot physically stand in a queue! Beside myself in anger! Will now have to borrow money until I can muster up the strength. Perhaps if I change bank they may help me?
I am a long standing, retired, 77 year old "Prestige"account holder who recently learned that I could switch to a "Consolidated" account and save a lot on bank charges. The call centre asked me to visit the nearest branch to do it. As our local branch had closed, I went to the Somerset mall branch. On my first visit I waited a full hour but saw no one as I had to leave to another appointment. Just a tad irritated! A week later I was very lucky and was seen by a gentleman after a mere 15 minute wait. Hooray! End of happy story. This gentleman asks for proof that I have an income!!! He has access to my bank account which clearly shows my monthly income in hard facts. Not a payslip which can stop when I lose my job, but hard and fast evidence of income derived from regular retirement policy payouts!! I have to get Liberty Life to confirm the amount that is reflected in my bank account for God knows how long. I must go back because it is a few hundred rand a month, but I am really reluctant. No explanation, nothing. Just that is the rule, take it or leave it attitude!
