I've had budget insurance for a few months. Last week i was stuck in Paarl, 69km from my home. I managed to get someone to tow me to a place of safety (From the N1). When i called budget (the very first time i ask for anything) .. I'm told by the lady that they can only tow for 33km and thereafter i have to pay close to R1500. I asked the lady "What if i wasn't safe?" "What if this was the last call i could make with the limited airtime for help?" .. the other option was to tow me to a garage in Paarl .. I asked "to stay where" .. I was a woman alone and not from Paarl, I just want to get home. All she could say was sorry and that this was their policy. I said that they need to disclose this upfront. I ended the call, got myself sorted and cancelled the policy with them within a few days. Please be sure that you are aware of this before doing business.
So my husband gets an email from a lady called Engela van Wyk who works for the company called Nissi Development in Cape Town (Email Address: nissidevelopmentpty@gmail.com). The email states that he has been successful in his application as an ambulance assistant and he's invited for the pre-interview taking place February 06th, 2023. It also states that he does however need to bring along criminal clearance and ITC clearance before he can commence and if he doesn't have this he can go to PEP/ Ackermans and pay R140 to have this done. The email states that if this is done/ if you have this paperwork already, you can start work on Monday 06th, immediately. Sounds too good to be true right! So I tell my husband, lets go to the address first before you make any payment (150 Long Street, Cape Town, is the address). When we get there, this building is vacant and there are people working and saying it's being renovated for a future club. Crisis avoided, thank you God! My husband then messages the number to basically say, why are you scamming people and we've caught them out (their whatsapp number: 068 658 7554) It's disgusting that people trying to make an honest living, who are struggling already, are being scammed by people like this. I'm sharing this review in hopes that it will help someone else to not make this mistake. p.s. to be an ambulance assistant you must be registered with the HPCSA
I called Discovery Insure to cancel my existing policy due to very bad experience. Shamanie Pillay was very efficient in the way that she assisted. She showed empathy and handled the entire situation very professionally (It could have gone very ugly .. very quickly..If handled differently) Thanks for the great service Shamainie
This evening (12/06/2015) my husband and my daughter went to Aneesa's in Klipfontein Road (Belgravia, Athlone) to purchase something for us to eat. Whilst waiting, my daughter went to the counter for an energade, while my husband sat on a chair close by. She asked for 1 only but the lady brought 2 and when my daughter (10 years old), said there was an error, this cashier said \Don't talk kak". my daughter turned to tell her dad and the lady called her back (obviously not realising that her dad was with her)....she continued to argue with my daughter and my daughter insisted that the lady was mistaken. The lady then told her that she would smack my child! I am utterly disgusted that a grown woman would speak to a child like that and it was observed by other customers and staff in the store. it is NEVER OK to think that this type of behaviour is \""fine\"" ...... completely disgusted"
