I requested release of funds for an estate late. Although slow, progress was made until 11 September when I was advised the funds had "settled". Since then - despite emailing them almost daily - I have been totally ignored and the estate wind up has been blocked. I have had my own investments with them for years, and have recommended them to others but this experience has shattered my confidence. I certainly won't recommend them again. It looks as though the Ombudsman is the only way to go.
A great neighbourhood bakery. Wide range of freshly baked staples and treats. Excellent quality.
Always well stocked with quality cheeses sourced from near and far, ready-made meals, olives, rusks, jams, gifts etc. The cafe serves creative, quality dishes and cakes. The shop is open during lockdown and making home deliveries. Well worth many repeat visits!
<p>Rewards voucher issued for good driving. Expiry 21 Feb. Tried to redeem on 21 Feb at Vidaworld Vida e cafe. Vida e Cafe was offline to Discovery so they could not redeem. Requested extension of voucher due to Discovery system glitch blocking redemption of voucher. Discovery Insure refused - saying the voucher had expired before I tried to redeem it. So 10h00 on 21 Feb is apparently not 21 Feb? I have previously used vouchers on the expiry date with no problem - has reality shifted sice then?</p>
Discovery Insure offers a Young Adult Benefit which rewards young drivers for good driving and educating themselves on good driving. I have followed the published rules very closely and reconciled the benefit payable to my daughter over her first 6 month cycle. Neither my broker (Peter van Beek - top Discovery advisor) nor Discovery Insure can confirm how they have calculated the benefit they say is payable - which has moved from R600+ to R1200+ to R1800+ as this query has aged. My calculations put the amount at R2600 but nobody seems to have any idea how the Discovery system works! This has been on persistent query since February 2015 - including a one on one meeting with Peter van Beek. No closer to clarity. Discovery Insure is unable - or unwilling - to prove that they are living up to their widely publicised promises.
