Have had a Mutichoice DSTV subscription since its inception. Monthly debit orders are in place for convenience and continuation of service. Last Tuesday, I received a notification that my subscription had not been paid, despite the debit order in place. Sent proof of payment for verification, but still been told that I must pay an additional amount of R440.30 to activate the service until DSTV can verify 'my' proof of payment. To add insult to injury, Multichoice charge me a fee of R50.00 to reconnect. A week later, still no response!
Purchased a Led Lenser P7 torch from Outdoor Warehouse about four years ago. Problem developed with the torch not switching on so and I approached Karriemah Afghan at Outdoor Warehouse who requested that I return the torch for inspection and repairs. During the two weeks it took to repair, Karriemah phoned once a week to keep me informed of the progress. Today I collected my Led Lenser from Karriemah and it is perfect again. Thank you Karriemah and Led Lenser for your excellent after-sales service! It pays to deal with a reputable company and product.
Purchased a steam cleaner mop from Snatcher online which arrived damaged, it looked as if it was due to manhandling by the courier company. Reported the matter to Phila Masokameng at Snatcher, who apologized and sprung into action immediately to by sending a replacement unit. Unfortunately, the replacement unit also arrived damaged, again due to poor handling by the courier company. Naturally, I was disappointed and Phila again offered to replace, which I declined. I then requested a refund which,I received within two weeks of reporting the situation. Thanks to Phila and Snatcher's returns policy,I will continue to deal with Snatcher.
Purchased two sets of the eight seat patio set from Shirley White for R18,000, three years ago after being assured by Shirley that the product is top quality. What a surprise I received when one chair broke on delivery. Since then six chairs have collapsed (Shirley repaired three chairs after much debate) and this morning the seventh chair didn't collapse ,it broke apart, literately.Trying to get Shirley to acknowledge and repair/replace is non existent. She is in denial and refuses to respond. I am now faced with the decision of either selling the furniture or repairing at my expense again. Thank goodness no one has been injured from collapsing chairs, so far. Bali Style Furniture certainly NOT recommended as a supplier of furniture.
Phoned the company on the 1st July 2015 and spoke to Meagan regarding a quote for a complete first floor water proofing. Meagan stated I would be contacted by a Leon within the hour. Phoned Meagan again on the 3rd July 2015 who was surprised Leon had not contacted me (how many times have Cape Town consumers heard that?) Meagan said she would ensure Leon contacted me. Guess what, today is the 7th July 2015 and Leon is still contacting me! I am guessing ,Leon is either the boss's relative or he enjoys sheltered employment?. The funny thing is that yesterday I received a Home Makers fair magazine in my post box and who is advertising on the front cover ,in full colour mind you, David Mathews Painting & Waterproofing! They say they offer affordable, efficient, friendly and RELIABLE service? Why do they waste money or bother to advertise if they are incapable of doing business in good faith? There is business out the it is just a pity the poor consumer is treated like nuisance.Would you do business with a company like David Mathews, I think not.
